We had a lovely room in Sleeping Beauty and the location was central for most of Rome's attractions. The standout however was Luca. A big man with a big and very generous personality. Nothing was too much trouble for Luca. We would recommend Sleeping Beauty to our friends.

For only having 3 days in Rome this was the perfect place to stay. It is close to the metro and about a 15 min walk to the Colosseum. Great restaurants within a short walking distance. The room was comfortable and very secure. Very friendly staff. Hot water in the shower. Worth every penny.

Had a wonderful time staying in this guesthouse, even though we were early someone came to let us in straight away and gave us all the information, plus a free map for Rome. We were also advised to go to Spaccio Pasta for dinner round the corner and it was lovely. This guesthouse is in a great location & has... More

My girlfriend and I stayed for 5 nights last spring and we had a wonderful time. The room was clean, well-connected to the city (go to Piensa e Buoi dei, down the street for dinner), close to a taxi stand and the metro, and a great value! The private bathroom was well worth the extra $20 or so per night.... More

The staff was very friendly, welcoming and super helpful. However the stay itself fell short. We stayed for 4 nights and not once did I have a hot shower. It was very loud and there were people coming in and out of the building at all hours of the night. There were smokers staying there, and whenever they would have... More

The place itself is great. It's 5 min walk to the metro and about 20min from the colloseum! The staff was friendly and helpful and room spacy....the bed was a bit hard but I slept fine! It's much to see and do and I was glad I stayed here.

Understand the great reviews. The greeting host was so heartwarmingly friendly and gracious. He has a real talent for hospitality! I wish we could become Facebook friends. :p. Place is the most secure place I'vs ever stayed at. Rooms and beds were.comfortable. I love that there is a communal library from which you can draw books and movies. Metro is... More

This place is well connected to all Rome and the staff was very friendly: they help us in everything we needed, thanks again! The guesthouse is clean and comfortable, also the restaurants that the staff suggested were great. See you soon!

I was there for 3 nights: the staff welcome us in a very friendly way. They give us all information we need and a lot of more informations about good places where to eat! The guesthouse is located in the first floor of a building: it was very beautiful, charming and clean, and in a very good position to visit... More

This was rated as 4.5, I feel it should be 2.5. Our room, wall paper pealing, Shower water not hot. Generally, old and feels dirty. We just returned from a month in Italy, Israel, Jordan and Palestine. This was the worst hotel we stayed in. It also had a very high rating, 8.7 on another web site, don't understand why.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
