We highly recommend you stay here. Our room was comfortable and reasonably priced. Carlo and Mary gave us all sorts of wonderful hints about seeing Rome which greatly added to our experience! They are wonderful hosts! The complimentary delicious, fresh, crispy croissants, orange juice, and basket of tea, coffee, and jam/biscuits was enough to get us moving in the morning... More

We booked two rooms in May 2014 at the Welrome Hotel. It was only a 5 minute walk to Termini Station. The location was fantastic with most of ancient Rome within walking distance. The rooms were clean and simple which is all we needed. The absolute highlght was Mary & Carlo, they should be listed as Italy's National Treasures their... More

We stayed at Welrome and found this hotel to be in a great location situated about a 10 minute walk from the main train station. The hosts could not help enough supplying a small map of Rome and going through all the attractions and points of interest upon arrival and before leaving to sightsee in the morning. Some great advise... More

This was my second time staying at the Welrome hotel. We were doing quite a bit of train travel on this last trip to Italy and the Welrome is just a 5-10 minute walk to the station, so very convenient. Mary and Carlo never disappoint, they are so helpful. Mary and Carlo have encyclopedic knowledge of art and history so... More

We stayed in this hotel on two occasions, first in March 2014 and then in June 2014. It is located only a few minutes walk from Termini Station, in a quiet street with only an occasional vehicle. We were on the street side of the hotel, on the first floor and there was no noise from traffic. The facilities are... More

A quiet and practical hotel, close to transport and some good little eateries. Our hosts, Carlo and Mary were so helpful, from booking private museums, recommending the best gelato and tips on where to go and how to get there. Comfy beds, air con was a blessing and while not showy, good clean room.

We stayed at the Welrome with our 2 children. The location is convenient as it is close to the termini. Mary and her husband were helpful and accommodating. They were kind and engaging toward our children. My son looked forward to the delicious croissant and juice every morning. Overall, the room was clean. It was nice for the children to... More

My husband and I recently took a long trip throughout Europe. We stayed in 7 different hotels throughout our trip and Welrome Hotel was by far the best. Our room was very clean, comfortable and a great price. The owners, Mary and Carlo, provided phenomenal customer service. They were very friendly and provided great advice about the city. They truly... More

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant trip to Rome staying for 6 nights at The Welrome Hotel. Although the hotel isn't that big it gets top rating because the owners are extremely friendly, it's very clean and tidy and for a budget hotel is in an excellent location, with all the transport links, train, metro and buses within... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
