Nice staff. Rooms were awful. The breakfasts were poor quality food, and the same dreary food every morning. Cheap cooked meats, cheap cheese slices....imagine Kraft plastic cheese, but even thinner. The "fresh" fruit salad was from a freshly opened tin. the yoghurts were very poor quality. The man who ran the breakfast room did his best, but it didn't make... More

This hotel was very centrally located near all the major sites except for Vatican City. Walking distance to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colliseum, Pantheon, etc. Less than a 10 minute walk to Termini station. Shopping and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was very basic, typical for Europe. Beds were very hard and so were pillows. Same with the breakfast, pastries,... More

Near the central traffic hub of Termini it is easy to go anywhere and back with buses and metro. Even in walking distance of city center ( 20 min). The hotelstaff was friendly and pointed out places of interests and restaurants. The upper floors have rooms with balconies . The coffeemachine made "tea" instead of coffee , but you could... More

Stayed here for 4 nights a few years back. Hotel needs an update and is very basic. But if you're traveling on a budget, this would be a great option. The hotel was in a fantastic location, rooms were clean, staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Hotel Centro for 3 nights in August. The hotel was basic but very clean and in a great location. Its a 10 minute walk from the train station (maybe a little longer dragging along suitcases) and an easy walk to all the main sites Rome has to offer. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with... More

Interesting experience to say the very least. I recently stayed in the hotel for an 8 night stay and had a few surprises involved in our stay. For one, the no visitor policy after 5pm was shocking and we had no idea of this rule prior otherwise we would have stayed in a hostel. The hotel staff was upset when... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
