Vatican City is within walking distance and the reason we booked this apartment hotel. It is self-catering with full kitchen facilities. Very quiet and peaceful at night for a good recharge. The staffs at the reception office were extremely helpful with my various queries. Love the laundry room, vending & coffee machines. Food and convenient stores aplenty around the corner.... More

Loved the location close to the vatican. Felt very safe in the area. Loved the employees. They were very helpful and kind. Loved our 2 bedroom quad room. Had a full kitchen. The apartment was very clean. Loved that we had an apartment feel but yet were still part of a hotel with a concierge to help us out. Location... More

We recently stayed here and were very pleased with the hotel. We have been to Rome many times and were really looking for adequate space at a decent price as we are a family (2 adults, 3 children). The location is quite nice as it is very close to the Vatican and a fairly easy walk to Piazza Navona, etc.... More

The studio apartments are clean and well appointed with a separate dining and kitchen area. Comfortable to stay in with plenty of room. The staff are also very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are quiet at night and residence is convenient for the Vatican. Plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby and has its own laundry on site.

This is our family's regular spot in Rome every summer, for 1-6 weeks at a time. Location is fantastic: within a couple of blocks of the Vatican, good cafes, two nearby grocery stores, ATM's, and a couple blocks to major bus stops and a taxi stand. It is clean, comfortable, has A/C (many places in Rome do not), and all... More

The place is in a good neighborhood by the Vatican. There are several really good places to eat nearby and also a few grocery stores and convenient stores in case you need to buy some items. It really is more of an apartment so don't excpect daily maid service or a full array of bathroom amenities. Its great for families... More

Arrived at Trianon Borgo Pio Residence and was immediately impressed with the location and helpful staff. The apartment was impressive, spacious with plenty of options for sleeping. The rooms were spotless, air conditioned, quiet and location was ideal being close to nearby restaurants. St Peters Basilica was within 10 minutes walk of the apartment and the nearest Metro station "Ottoviano"... More

Were here with my adult children (4 of us) for an overnight stay. The place is absolutely amazing: beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable, literally walking distance to Vatican City. They even have a rest area very comfortable including showers in case you check out but have still time to spend around; you can come back take a shower, rest, pickup your... More

We (family of 5, 2 adults, 3 ch) stayed here last Holy Week (March 30-April 5) and were very satisfied. What a great find! It's like having a condo in Rome, with 2 baths (huge help!), good-sized rooms, an adequately equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, ref, thermos for hot water.) The staff was most helpful from reservation to check-out, as well... More

Very close to the Vatican and the street Borgo Pio offers plenty of food and drink options. While the main street is rather touristy it was just fine for a couple of nights and we very much enjoyed the size of the room and would consider returning, especially for a longer stay in Rome.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
