We stayed here for several days on a family vacation in late October. The location is excellent for exploring Rome. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go aside from taxis to and from the airport, but we are above average in terms of walking endurance. Some of our days in Rome totaled over 10 miles. There are... More

Situated a two minutes walk from St Peters and with a row of cafe/restaurants right outside this is ideal for your visit to Rome. Basic facilities with a bed room and sitting room. Never stay miles away from the City again.

I have been staying in this residence regularly for the last 6 or 7 years. You can't beat the location for shopping, sight-seeing, and eating--though I would avoid the restaurants on the very touristy Borgo streets next to the residence. The Residence has made some noticeable improvements such as renovating some of the apartments, updating the elevators, air conditioning, and... More

We rented a two bedroom two bath apartment that had a small extra room that doubled as a bedroom or sitting room. We loved the accommodations! The staff was great. They arranged for someone to pick us up at the airport. I called from Madrid to tell them we were delayed by three hours so they modified the pick up... More

Less than 5 minutes to St. Peter's square. Restaurants, shops, and market just one street parallel. Perfect for a family. 2 rooms small dining table and a kitchenette. I would definitely recommend and stay here again!!!! The staff are friendly and they hold luggage if you plan on roaming the city after check out.

The hotel's location was perfect for sightseeing and shopping. Our apartment was spacious and we enjoyed the freedom to prepare our own meals - or not. The apartment and the hotel were immaculately clean, and the hotel was an oasis after returning from our various expeditions. We had our booking upgraded, an unexpected and lovely surprise. The staff were extremely... More

I was working in Europe with a group of friends when we decided to head to Rome for Easter at the last minute. We found this gem just blocks from St. Peter's Square. The place is so close to the Vatican that I was able to drop my bag of while waiting for my room to be ready, get breakfast,... More

Excellent resident apartment, very clean, spacious, for major European city standards, with excellent kitchen facilities and very close to major access points into and around Rome sites and rightist the Vatican's doorstep. Has an excellent Portuguese restaurant around the corner. Staff very friendly and have an excellent grasp of English language for us non- Italian speakers. Recommend to anyone who... More

Hotel well localized, good staff and very welcome, rooms were big and very clean and appliances work well. It was easy to reach transportation, shops and good restaurants around. We´re at few steps from St. Pieters square. My congratulations to the hotel staff.

We travelled to Rome as part of our Europe trip with 2 young children. This residence hotel was amazing featuring 2 bedrooms, in house wifi, coin laundry services within the hotel and wooden finishes... It also had a terrace and a balcony!! We enjoyed our stay in Borgo Pio residence as it was very close to St Peter's Basilica and... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
