This is quite simply one of the best hotel experiences I've had and what staying at a boutique hotel should be like. The personal touches and attention to detail were extraordinary - and you just can't beat the location. Whether it's shopping, dining or the usual tourist attractions, it's all within walking distance right outside your door. The penthouse is... More

Because my partner consults for an on-line travel company, we are very privileged to get to stay in a decent amount of different kinds of hotels throughout Europe and the States. We stayed in the Portrait Roma for 3 nights and I have to say we were spoiled by the staff from the moment we checked in. They could not... More

This is the second time me and my wife stay in this hotel. This is a true "Boutique Hotel", with excellent accomodations and a fantastic staff. Location (for those who want to stay at the core of Rome) could not be better. The terrace at the top floor is something very special, with a very romantic view !!!

What an outstanding hotel! It's a perfection in every way. They thought of EVERYTHING - large spacious room, quiet sanctuary although it's located right in central Rome. Our rooms were on a 3rd floor but you couldn't hear any street noise. The rooftop lounge was comfortable with wonderful view. A perfect way to wind down a day- overlooking gorgeous sights... More

Amazing hotel as all the other reviews attest to. Was here for a single night on a business trip and would love to return with my family. Central to everything in Rome (could actually see the Spanish Steps from my balcony) small so book early as it fills up due to the location, charm, beauty and excellent reviews. Service is... More

Our stay was near perfect. From arrival to check in to departure, all the little extra touches, the fine details and the warm hospitality make us feel this is truly home away from home. The location was great, the room lovely, amenities complete and bed so comfortable. The greatest reason to return to this lovely hotel must be the lifestyle... More

I'll keep this review very short and sweet, because there is absolutely nothing i can fault about this hotel. the location is right next to the spanish steps, about 30 seconds walk from the steps... which is the most central place to stay in Rome, this is where you want to stay when in Rome. there are only 14 rooms,... We spent 5 nights here in November 2014. The service was absolutely top notch. Anything you wanted, you only need ask...recommendations, valet cars, etc. The location was perfection - you can get anywhere by foot from here, we could SEE the Spanish Steps from our balcony..the vibe at night out on the street is safe, well lit, friendly and warm... Although located a few walking minutes from the Spanish Steps, this boutique hotel is a high quality haven of calm and exacting guest services. Located aside the Ferragamo building, the interior design is informed by the designer's eye for luxury yet avoids ostentation. This hotel is not for the tourist seeking mansion sized rooms, a gym, business center, night club,... More

My husband and I have stayed in several Rome hotels and enjoyed them all. But Portrat Roma will be the only one we ever stay at again. The staff was polished, professional, friendly and truly helpful. We relished the calm and quiet vibe and found the rooftop experience exceptional...even in the rain. And every aspect of our room was extraordinary.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
