We traveled and stayed here in Febuary, and can only say positive things about this hotel. The staff were always helpful during our 5 days there, the breakfasts were excellent and the location is perfect. Both of us liked every aspect of the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Located just two blocks from the Spanish Steps, but the area is pedestrianised and very quiet at night. Warm and friendly welcome from very helpful staff. Beautifully-appointed room. Breakfast and cocktails on the roof terrace with great views over the city.

I had the chance to live in Rome for 7 days in mid-March in the wonderful Portrait Roma hotel -- truly one of the great hotel experiences in the world. Small, private, elegant, elite, full of character, charm and style and expertly managed, the experience truly elevated what it means to live in Rome. Our room was fantastic, our breakfast... More

The hotel is situated in a great location near the spanish steps with excellent shopping and restaurants all around. The rooms are amazing, the bathrooms to die for , we even had a sauna. Everything you could possibly need or want has been thought of. The personal attention from the fabulous staff is great. Breakfast on the roof terrace is... More

Its like visiting a stylish friend's flat in the most posh neighbourhood of the city. In fact, the suits leave me green with envy if it were not for the fact that you have been invited to treat your room like its your. I wish we could spend a month here, hesitant to relinquish the swish pad in Rome's high-end... More

I booked the ‘Portrait Roma’ hotel based on ‘tripadvisor’s’ customer reviews. I had been looking for hotels since August, 2014. According to tripadvisor, this hotel was ranked # 3, out of 1,267 hotels in Rome. I liked that. Before booking, I looked at many hotels and Portrait Roma is the one I felt more attracted to. I did my homework.... More

Everything you could ever want for a short stay. Staff cannot do enough for you and are attentive, friendly and knowledgable. The hotel is perfectly placed in the center of the hot spots for the sights and shopping. It is a very private experience though the roof terrace provides some shared space for drinks on hot summer nights. Not many... More

Stayed for 2 nights at the end of February 2015. The hotel is situated very close to the Spanish Steps and is surrounded by some of the world's most well known designer boutiques. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us. The room was spacious and contained everything you would expect of a 5 star residence.... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2015

Our family stayed at the Portrait Roma in March 2015 and had a fantastic experience. This small boutique hotel felt more like a home than a hotel. The location is ideal and in walking distance to most major sites. The facilities/amenities are beautiful. There is a lovely rooftop terrace. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The staff is attentive, kind, and... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
