I visited Rome with my father for the first time (for about 6 days). We stayed in this hotel for the first 4 days. It was extremely easy to get there, and even easier to go shopping. The staff was very helpful, they gave us a map and directions for any place we wanted to go to. Also, nearby there... More

The best thing is very near to station and budget hotel. People are friendly for helping the best possible way to make a tour at Rome. Though we have reached around 11.00hrs, but they have provided the breakfast in that night as we have to check out next day around 6am. The room is bit small otherwise it is comfortable.

This hotel was very very good. It was a budget hotel very close to the train station, which made it really great. I'm not so sure the neighbourhood was the greatest at night but during the day it was fine. The hotel itself was really good. We were a group of 18 and they were very accommodating. They didn't have... More

This hotel is super close to Rome Termini station and not too far a walk from some tourist attractions (Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps are about 20-30 min walk from here). It didn't feel like the safest area outside on the street, but once inside and in our room, we enjoyed our stay here -- we stayed 4 nights.... More

We stayed here for one night and weren't expecting much to be honest - when we initially walked into the lobby, I had my doubts. I needn't have worried. The room was lovely. Small, but enough 'breathing space' for two people. Nice shower room - again, small, but enough space to move. It was clean and well maintained with an... More

We returned for the 4th time, in late February 2013 the last visit being in December 2011. We had the warmest of welcomes as always , and what a surprise !. The hotel has had a tasteful refurbishment with new beds and bathrooms , working heating/aircon and flat screen TV's, and given its very convenient location, just a few steps... More

Caput Mundi is a cosy place, with great location. Close to Termini, walking distance to city centre. We stayed with my boyfriend for only 2 night, so next time, we have to stay longer :-) The room was in great condition, I think just after reconstruction. Staff was very helpfull and friendly. Nice breakfast for a good start of the... More

My husband and I have stayed two times at Hotel Caput Mundi and have been treated so kindly, so nicely, and attentively. The owners are wonderful people, polite, caring, and just simply wanting to make our stay comfortable. It is such a convenient location for the train station, along with accessibility to many places to eat and businesses. It is... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
