We selected the Hotel Diocleziano following positive reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. The hotel is ideally located - walking distance to a number of tourist spots and only five minutes from Termini station. We stayed in room 404, clean and comfortable with an enclosed shower, this is a really good value for money hotel. All the... More

This was a very basic hotel that should be considered a motel. We spent 2 nights here but really should not have. The best thing about this place is its proximity to the train station Roma Termini which is a 5 minute walk away. The bed was uncomfortable as the room was small. I recommend a stay here only if... Hotel is right across Roma Termini. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very friendly. You can take trenitalia from Roma Termini for intra city travel to Florence, Naples etc or Metro to travel to Vatican City, Colosseum and other archeological sites etc... strong recommendation for do it yourself :)

we picked up the hotel from trip advisor recommendations, we were 2 days in rome in march, 2015. The hotel was closed to Roma termini and were able to drag to suitcases to the hotel. Even though we were early, we were given our rooms and we went to our merry way on a tour. The rooms were clean and... More

The hotel is in a very convenient place, just a very short walk from Termini Station and the Metro (subway). The rooms, though a bit small, are clean and have everything we needed. The bathroom, which was bigger than other hotel bathrooms, also was quite nice. The breakfast was fabulous. It has a workout room though, with as much walking... More

We selected the hotel through Trip Advisor recommendations and were not disappointed. Nice rooms, very helpful staff, wonderful breakfast in the morning. The server in the breakfast room remembered the orders of every guest after their first morning - amazing! The hotel was an easy walk from the Tremini station and from there it was easy to get anywhere in... More

For a first time traveler with just a 4 nights in Rome it was important to: A - Find a property with easily available public transport close by and 24/7 B - Property that wasn't in the tourist busy zones C - Had many restaurant options This hotel addressed all those. The Bonus was the knowledgeable and helpful staff who... More

We stayed at this hotel in March 2015 I chose this hotel based on reviews from trip adviser and they were right... this place is fantastic Rooms - I was a bit skeptical about the rooms as all the bad reviews had mentioned the rooms being too small. Much to my surprise when we arrived the room was big :).... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
