Excellent hotel! Nice and welcoming staff, clean rooms with free mini bar (including still water, sparkling water, Fanta, Coca Cola and juice), great buffet breakfast. in addition to all that the location is everything: Next to the main Termini station, you can easily arrive from airport by train, the main attractions are in a distance of around 20-30 min walk,... Just came back from Rome and stayed 4 nights in this hotel, I booked the smallest size room but it's big enough to us, a couple with 2 big check in luggage and 2 carry on luggage. The room is very clean and bed is comfortable. Mini bar in refrigerator is free and they restock it everyday, the bathroom is... More

I cannot thank the Hotel Diocleziano enough. I arrived at the hotel, but my luggage did not, as it had been lost by the airline. After traveling for 15 1/2 hours, and potentially looking at a lengthly stay in Europe without luggage, I was understandibly upset. The lovely man who checked me in said not to worry, got a cappuccino... More

Last week we returned from our four night stay at Hotel Diocleziano. The hotel is situated in a side street with two mini supermarkets and a good, well priced restaurant on the same road. All the hotel staff are very pleasant, courteous and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was very clean and and comfortable. The ensuite was spotless... More

We chose this hotel for our first stay in Rome. It is conveniently situated just a short walk away from Rome Termini in a fairly quiet street off the main road. We had a minor glitch with our reservation which was soon sorted out. The hotel is very well kept and has a very high standard of cleanliness. The staff... More

We recently spent 8 nights here. The hotel and staff exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal. It's on quiet side street, an easy 3-block walk from the main train station, subway station and bus station. However, it's within walking distance to many attractions. The staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and willing to help us navigate different activities. The breakfast... More

We toured 3 cities in Italy and of the three hotels this hotel had the smallest room. We had to shuffle bags to get something from another bag. There is only a bag rest for one bag and any other bags must go on the floor or the bed. Second comment, my wife is a bit clostrafobic and didn't like... More

We stayed at this Hotel prior to our Cruise and we were so happy that we did. From the moment we booked this Hotel the experience was EXCEPTIONAL. We corresponded, via email, prior to our arrival and the quick, professional response to our emails showed that the staff truly cared about their customers. As soon as we arrived at the... More

Dear MarieKM59, Thank you for such an enthusiastic review! It is with great satisfaction that we have read it. You do not receive such compliments every day, and to be considered EXCEPTIONAL makes all our efforts worthwhile! It really seems that your experience with us had gone beyond the simple stopover prior to your cruise, but that you have truly... More

The hotel is well located to the Termini station and very close to transport links that having been said if you are not afraid of walking we found even the most distant historical interests to be no more than about 30mins walk. The rooms vary but we had 2 rooms and they were both very good with amenities and size.... More

We stayed here for the first week of our Italian adventure. It is 3 blocks from the Central Termini. We found our room to be clean, modern and well run with an American expatriate as manager. She was friendly, efficient, and helpful. Our room came with breakfast including fresh eggs and everything necessary for a great start to the busy... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
