Great location. Staff most helpful and very familiar with the area. Breakfast tasty. Rooms clean. Quick access to Termini Train Station, Metro lines, city buses and direct train to the airport. Great place to relax after a long day of touring!

My husband and I stayed a week at the Hotel Diocleziano, and with the oppressive heat of Rome in July, I can not express how grateful we were to come back to our cool, quiet, and spotless room to recharge for the next day. The breakfast (service and food) was wonderful. The hotel also stocks the room's refrigerator with a... More

It is difficult to say enough nice things about this wonderful little hotel. From the very friendly and helpful front desk staff (special commendation to Emilio who tirelessly worked the phones to Alitalia for 3 days to help us find our two misrouted bags) to the cheerful and efficient ladies of the breakfast service - everything was top-notch and delivered... Stayed here for 3 nights. Small room but had all the amenities, excellent staff and good breakfast as well. Free wi-fi was provided. Mini bar was free (no alcohol ofcourse) and was restocked everyday. Near to the Termini and Republica metro stations.

The staff were about the friendliest and most helpful we experienced during our time in Europe. This boutique hotel was well situated near the Rome main train station. From previous stays in Rome, my expectations were low, but this hotel was a wonderful surprise. It was clean, neat, the staff were awesome, especially the young trainee receptionist ( I think... Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. On the first day, there was a bit of a hiccup. After a 15 hour flight we were told that there were "maintenance issues" and that our room was not ready. This is a boutique hotel with limited space in the summer so our assumption was that they were... More

Our welcome at the hotel, after over 24 hours travel from Australia, was extraordinary. Instead of waiting in a queue to check in, we were ushered into the lounge and brought a coffee. We were then taken to our room, which was very clean and had a fantastic view. The hotel is very convenient to the train station and within... More

Our stay at Hotel Diocleziano was wonderful. Room was very clean with good size bathroom. Very quiet--never heard our neighbors. Staff was extremely helpful with travel assistance and recommendations for food in the area. Breakfast was the best of any hotel we stayed at in Italy with fresh squeezed orange juice and good variety of choices. Neighborhood is what you... More

Service by the staff at Hotel Diocleziano is simply unbeatable! Extremely courteous and helpful, the staff went out of their way to help us with our needs. Sherwin, one of the staff members was an absolute delight. He was always cheerful and helped us a lot with some helpful tips and advice. Thanks Sherwin! :) You rock! To the front... More

We stayed at Hotel Diocleziano in our recent visit to Italy in may 2015. The hotel has a great location, walking distance from Termini Station. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped. We had breakfast at the buffet which provided the essentials (capuccino, freshly squezeed orange juice, fruits, etc...) The staff was friendly and... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
