This hostel is in a terrible location, the staff rarely speaks to you, there are no restaurants besides pizza, and its a disgusting hostel that looks like a horror film should be filmed here. DO NOT STAY HERE. Wifi also is very minimal, only works in certain areas. Plus there is absolutely nothing to do in this area. No attractions,... More

I totally recommend this place. It's better to stay at the Lido di Roma than in the crowded city. The hostel is way too much comfortable, clean, offering big bedrooms with also big bathrooms in them. It is almost like a hotel with hostel prices. The only thing I complain about is that the breakfast is poor. More and different... More

We booked the Litus Roma Hostel for a three-day stay in Ostia. Our basketball team (New England high school players) had been invited to visit and play by the local club, Lido di Roma. We were there for three days and we really enjoyed our stay. It is a stately old building still undergoing renovation. The hostel is run by... More

This hostel (Ostia Lido, about 30 mins train ride from Rome) is in a lovely old building, big rooms , high ceilings, some nice artwork too. I was in a 6-bed all-women's dorm from which you could see the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was mostly pre-packaged stuff though there was also some fresh fruit -... More

Cheap hostel with sea view, friendly staff, very poor breakfast. Us to be a school, rooms are very big, with loads of beds ;-) Location is good, close to the beach and the town center. Little bit smudgy, badroom and shower also very basic. If you don't care for luxury, this place is OK. Very conversational.

I was in Rome for the canonization of Pope John Paul II with a group of 25 young ladies aged 19 and up. At first, I had to pick this hostel since it was the only one available, though we tried booking way ahead. However, I did not regret this choice at all: apart from being far from the center... We stayed here for 5 days in a double room on the second floor with a great sea view. The building started off as a sanatorium for sick poor children from Rome, so has the feeling of a huge institution with long corridors and wards. The Germans occupied it during the war. But now it has been warmed up with... More

To reiterate another reviewer, this is Lido Ostia, not Rome. Easy to access 30 minutes from Rome via train from Porta San Paulo. This is a separate line connected to the Trenitalia station through the Piramide Metro station, and bus stop. Trains on this line only travel to/from Lido Ostia and are a cultural experience. Follow the signs to Porta... More

It's just a hostel. It's not anywhere near anything you'd want to see. As a family of four, we had to book a whole room if we wanted our privacy and that meant that the price (120 euros plus 12 euros city tax, which I don't really believe. In Rome proper we paid 2 euros a night and nothing for... More
