Stayed here during my first trip to Europe. There was no air conditioner due to time of year. They did move our room up stairs over center court. We got to listen to a wedding reception and clanking of pots and pans all night. Free wifi did not work majority of the time. The breakfast buffet was mediocre. Half cooked... More

stayed here for the weekend and I couldn't of hoped for better! city centre walking distance to everything. colosseum is 40 minutes - Spanish steps 40 minutes - we even walked to and from Vatican city took round hour half but the views and the maps are so good it didn't feel that long. the hotel is very dated -... Group of 8 visiting so we had 4 rooms. No two were alike. Rooms were generally OK, but bathrooms all odd. One had tub that was basically on a platform. You had to climb up into it. Another had a tub door that you had to bend down and climb through. The other two had showers smaller than you find... More

Greeted by friendly reception staff always makes a good initial impression and Alain was very quick to make us welcome and immediately offered a room upgrade to a suite at no extra charge. Although the furnishing in the suite was rather dated , the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen were modern. The room, with a balcony,... More

just spent 4 nights at Domus romana hotel to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary - really enjoyed our visit. Our designated room was fine though overlooked the street. We did enquire at desk whether they had a room that looked onto the charming courtyard. They were happy to oblige and we ended up in room 112 which is apparently the... More

Good location for sightseeing.Triple room small with inadequate storage for 3 people.Third bed was a pull out chair on raised area up 4 steps , awkward to access.Breakfast nightmare today: arrived an hour before end of service, queued to get inside .Despite asking several times there was no cup to have a hot drink for 30minutes.Waited an hour for orange... We recently stayed at domus Romana hotel. It is at a great location making it easy to see the sights of Rome. It is a 5 minute walk to the Metro. We were able to get on the Metro and we are the Vatican in 15 minutes. Getting a bus to the Roman Forum and colosseum was equally easy. The... More

Location is great. You can walk almost everywhere and subway is only 3 blocks away and train station 6 blocks away. Service is good and hotel was clean. By North American standards I say it was a 3 star. The morning buffet is decent but not GREAT. Scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, ... The usual although the thin white bread for... More

Although not imposing from the front this is a lovely hotel with a ramshackle, lived-in feel and with rooms coming off a court yard. Our room was in the corner and came with all the usual amenities you would expect. There were outside tables where you could have breakfast (continental buffet style) weather permitting. The hotel is situated within walking... More

My family of 5 enjoyed a wonderful stay in Rome here. We had a separate bedroom and plenty of room for 3 children in the lounge. The rooms opened onto balconies looking out over a quiet courtyard which we loved. It had a small kitchen, although we didn't need to use it much except for making cups of tea and... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
