Just back from 4 nights in Domus Romano, as said above definitely not deserving of a 4 star rating. Our room was on the side road and was very noisy, especially early in the morning. The room had a very bad smell coming from the bathroom plumbing, possibly due to the age of the building. There were no drawers to keep... More

Beautiful Courtyard, the staff was very welcoming and kind, and the service was impeccable, although i didn't stay in the rooms, the main areas of the hotel, such as reception, breakfast room etc.. were well designed and trendy. Well connected to the main train station Termini, and in a great location.

Just returned from Domus Romana. This is not a 4 star property, I would say a 3. The rooms are clean and the common areas are also clean, the lobby furniture is old and worn. The courtyard is very nice and the breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location can't be beat, and that is the reason... More

We stayed five nights here over March, including my birthday. A great location, 10-15 minutes walk from most of the main sites, and two minutes from the four fountains. The breakfast is ample and includes pastries, cereal, hot and cold drinks, eggs and bacon. The only other thing we look for is a hot powerful shower, and clean, quiet room.... More

This is an excellent choice for a short visit. The main station and bus depot are nearby, so that it is easy to travel anywhere in the city. However, the hotel is in such a good location that one sees more by walking. Very courteous ,friendly and helpful staff. Pretty courtyard/bar where drinks are available .good breakfasts catering for all... More

THE GOOD: - Location is good. Walking distance to the central station etc. However, there are dozens of other hotels in the same area to choose from. - No traffic noise etc. - The staff speaks english THE BAD: - The hotel charged me twice when I booked a family suite (prepaid)! Took about a week and several emails to... More

Our family of 4 stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. We had room 214 for 4 people and it was clean and spacious. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choices from healthy fruit to bacon. The hotel was walking distance to almost everything. We waled almost everywhere, only took a taxi to Vatican and Trastevere. The... More

Having booked the hotel on the internet, it is always a bit of a gamble, and you are always hoping that it is good as it portrays itself. On arrival we found the room to be very spacious with a sofa, and very high ceilings, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was a combination of cold meats, salads, cereals &... More

We found this hotel to be clean, comfortable and very convenient for all the sites. We walked all the way to Vatican City and back on our first day (with breaks along the way). The staff were very helpful and patient. Good breakfast in the morning. Overall, excellent value for money.

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
