One of the best location if you want to get around Rome without spending money for public transport. Everything you should see is nearby on walking distance, and I got really impressed of the close I was to everything. The hostel was cute and clean, and also the italian dinner was a good deal. Definitely worth. One word: comfortable. Would... More

We booked 3 nights at the Mona Lisa hostel in Rome after reading decent reviews and seeing that it was rated %74 on hostel world. After traveling through europe for nearly a month the mona lisa was the worst hostel we had walked into. we stayed in there for 10 minutes before we decided there was no way we were... More

So, we stayed here for 3 nights. A brief review - mixed dorms, clean rooms, clean beds. Very friendly staff, helpful for information and directions. Hot pasta meal provided at 7 pm daily. Great if you're on a budget. If you are looking to keep cost down but are not looking for frills, book and stay here! P.s the 'terrible'... More

Nice hostel. Nothing special, but everything you need to stay over for a night or two. Lockers, hot water, wifi and free pasta every night. Friendly Indian guy as a stuff.

...first worst was "Peace and Love" in Paris, see my review. This place features: 1. absolutely no security. No keys, no lockers, nothing. People strill freely in/out no one askes who or where you belong. 2. tiny rooms and poor equpment. No other furniture than bunk beds - you only can spread your stuff on the floor. Common room is... Easy (10 mins) walk from the train station made an easy transfer from the airport. The welcome we got was warm and friendly and the hostel was immaculate. I travelled with 3 other friends and we had the private en-suite room which was spread across a ground floor and mezzanine level and had air con (which we were able to... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
