The location of the hotel is great as it's on;y a short walk from Termini. There are also a couple of bars on the street which is good if you're looking to have a good time and are not familiar with the city. We travelled in a big group of 14 and I stayed in a room of 4. When... More

The ONE thing I liked about this hotel was that it was a few streets away from Termini. Other than that they had horrible customer service. 1. The shower didnt work and the guy in charge screamed at us for actually telling him of the problem. He fixed it but yelled at us and told us we should be glad... More

LOCATION: I've stayed here a number of times. It's very, very close to the Termini, which is why I chose it. If you fly into Rome with Ryanair (which brings you Ciampino - the airport nearer the centre) then you would get the Terravision shuttle bus ultimately be dropped off a 3-4 min walk away from the Anakin Stargate. The... More

The only thing i can recommend about this place is the location. Only 10mins walk from Termini or Castro Pretorio Metro. Otherwise room was pretty basic. The room had no air conditioning and the room fan (integrated into room) was useless. The room overlooked a busy, noisy main road so the choice ws to either roast in your own juices... More

I've been there during a peak summer time. The hotel building is not so difficult to find. It is situated in area that has a lot of hotels near the central termini. On the way from termini to hotel is so quiet and not very safe to walk alone during a night. You would be surprise that there are several... More

Worst hostel experience of my life. Black mold in bathrooms, toilet plugged in one bathroom all 3 days we were there. Sink plugged all 3 days in another. Standing water in bathroom. Door handle fell off, locking someone in bathroom in middle of night. No curtain on one bathroom, nice naked view of Rome while showering  Bare wires exposed... More

I'm sorry to see the previous reviewer had an unpleasant experience at Hotel Anakin Stargate, as my stay was most enjoyable. The part of the hotel we stayed in had been recently renovated, so everything was in good condition and very clean. We'd booked a twin room but we actually had a double bed and a single bed. The room... More

Anakin Stargate Hotel - This place was really close to Termini station. About a 8 minute walk or less. The hotel was in this building that had a few other hotels too. So Anakin Stargate had like 5 rooms maybe. It was odd. The room was confined. Had a tv that didn't work and a computer that didnt work. The... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
