This is not a typical tourist hotel, but I have stayed here on several occasions and I like it. The neighborhood probably seems a bit "sketchy" to most folks, but I always felt safe. The street itself is very quiet and the rooms are comfortable. Of course, this is the center of Rome, so the rooms and bathrooms are small,... More

this hotel was chosen for a school trip so I wasn't expecting much, the rooms were ok and clean I shared the room with 2 other girls in February, the rooms were very warm and a bit too cosy, what was disappointing for me was when the bathroom was too warm from showering when the window was opened the bar... The room was tiny for the amount of people staying in it. I went on a school trip so Ii wasn't expecting much but this was disappointing. The bath did not drain away so we had a bath of water sitting there all day and all night which meant nobody else could have a shower. The air conditioning was broken... More

The Floridia is in an ideal location. Rooms are an acceptable size and generally clean. The staff were quite helpful and able to solve any problems that presented themselves. However, a drain problem made the bathrooms smell, also some rooms were extremely hot (heating on in April!) the inconsistency between rooms made it unfair that some students/staff suffered with significantly... Stayed here 15-19th February 2014 on a school trip to Rome. The hotel was as I expected, basic but clean. Our room was by no means huge for 3 people but as we were only in it to sleep and get ready this was not much of an issue. There was free wifi in the reception although connection was slow.... More

Bed was reasonably comfy, TV worked, shower didn't have curtain which was annoying cause the floor gets soaked and the drain was crap, also bathroom light turns off after a while. Our fridge didn't work, neither did the AC so room was always boiling and uncomfortable. Stayed here for school trip. Also no wi-fi! Breakfast isnt too bad.

Having read previous reviews I was pretty wary about the Hotel Floridia. Granted there are two rather large dustbins right outside the front door (accompanied by a number of rats) and the facilities are rather basic. However, visiting on a school trip there was nothing to fault, it was exactly what we expected - a place to sleep. The added... More

We stayed here on a school trip. The hotel reception is fine, clean and airy. However there are massive bins outside the main door. The room was fine for a school trip, clean with towels changed every day. However the main problem was that one of our pupils had their iPhone stolen from the room. The staff were not interested... The very first impression of the hotel Floridia is a strong smell. Instead of doorman, you'll be greeted by two giant trash containers. Then it gets better and better. Hotel has no wifi. They will recommend you to find it in the Internet cafe. Room telephone wasn't working. Why? No one tried to explain it or fix it. Breakfasts were... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
