OK, the hotel is in a good neighborhood, in the ancient district, 20 to 30 minutes from the Coloseum. It has some good security measures, really felt safe while there. And it was clean. However, that is the sum total of the good things I can say about it. The service was non-existent. If you needed something done, oh well.... more

I booked this hotel via hotelconnect, struggled to get a hotel in Rome for our usual weekend away budget of £70 a night, this cam to a little over and I was apprehensive as Termini is not know as the safest of areas. However, once you walk from the station to the hotel you never need to walk around that... more

It's not the first time I was looking for a recommendation on the hotel at Tripadvisor and just like all other times it helped me a lot. Hotel Espana is exactly what candid travelers told about it. It is a very decent hotel with nice attractive small rooms with more than attractive prices. First of all, the location. The hotel... more

This was just the perfect hotel for us. Though the rooms were quite small, we had luxurious bathroom and we even had a balcony! The rooms are very tidy and cleaned every day. The location might not be perfect, but it's ok, near the termini (15 min. walk) and colosseum (15 min. walk). Of course you can also take the... more

This hotel is ideal if your looking for somewhere reasonably priced, we stayed in a triple room which was spotlessly clean, so no complaints there. It is a bit far from the major attractions but saying that the metro system is excellent and cheap, so use that to get about. The staff were none too friendly, the breakfasts were the... more

This hotel was relatively cheap and we thought that the location was fairly good - of course you couldn't walk to every Rome attraction, but then who'd expect to be able to? After all, Rome is a huge city! But we enjoyed the short walk to the nearest hop on hop off bus stop and found that this was an... more

I just got back from a short three day vacation in Rome. The city was amazing and the hotel was a nice surprise. I invited my sister and mom to celebrate a book I've just released, but we had a tight budget, so we were lookin for something mid pricy. We payed 80 Euros per night for a triple, or actually... more

We are a family of 4 and stayed in a quad room. The hotel rooms are reasonably large and very clean. Bathroom is also reasonable in size and also very clean. Hotel breakfast is good, cereal, croissants (custard, chocolate or jam filled), cheese, ham, rolls, tea, coffee (cappaccino), hot chocolate, orange drink. After the mixed reviews we read we were... more

We booked the trip through CO-OP Travel after carrying out some research on the Web. It was our first time in Rome and having two children, 10 & 13, we wanted a hotel that was comfortable, safe and within walking distance of ammenities. We found the Espana offered a family room with two double beds (which could be separated if... more
