I use to stay here for long period of time but now we stay here for several days for visiting Saint Peter. Best location for visiting the Vatican and Borgo area where there are a lot of good trattoria & shops. A friendly actor owner would make suggestions for Restaurant & trattoria. Room has own nice bath room and completely... More

I had a perfect stay in this b&b! It is easy to find and ideally located in the heart of Rome. It is a beautiful flat with a unique charming and cosy atmosphere, and the owner, a writer, is very helpful and available. Being into arts myself, we had some extremely interesting conversations and he told me about a few... More

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and we had an awesome time! This was our first time in a bed and breakfast and we couldn't have asked for a better stay! The B&B is in a great location, just a few minute walk from the Vatican City, which also has a metro stop. There are also several restaurants... More

My wife and I stayed at the Fourth Floor for about a week all together - our travel plans were complicated, and Lauro was very helpful and accommodating of our comings and goings (the instructions for the airport bus were particularly timely!) Lauro is a charming and interesting man, a theater artist, and he is very engaged with his city... More

I have stayed for the second time in Lauro's B&B. It's extremely well situated, between the centre and the Vatican, at walking distance to almost any place to visit. The owner is extremely nice and cultured, which makes the stay there a unique experience with some interesting insights in Italian cultural life. The room is very quiet, yet in the... More

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the 4th Floor B&B. Fine location and kind hospitality. Walking distance to all major sights (Vatican only 5 minutes). Peaceful place with a comfortable bed. Basic breakfast but terrace made it feel nice. TV would be a plus. Tuija&Matti (Finland)

We stayed in this great B&B 3 nights, and it was just a wonderful experience! The location was perfect (walking distance to some of the more interesting attractions in Rome!), the room very nice and the bathroom perfectly clean. The breakfast was very good, served on a beautiful terrace, and the owner very friendly and very helpful to discover not-touristical... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
