This is my first time travelling on my own. I flew from Sydney to Rome, I arrived in the evening and I caught the express train to Termini (main train station in Rome) arrive at Termini then walked for 5 minutes to the hostel. The staff were all so friendly. I booked a dorm for 5 women. I was given... More

I visited the yellow on a one day stopover in Rome. The hostel was very clean, the ac worked well, the wifi was fast and the bed was comfy. The downside was that I needed to get up early in the morning the next morning which is not the sleep schedule that most people in the hostel have. It was... More

The Yellow Bar I would give ***** due to consistently being great and making guests very happy. However, the reception was not exactly up to par. I was "greeted" by Vivian & Ilaria that wasn't exactly warm or friendly. Instead, was more cold and seemed that our questions/concerns were more bothersome than valid to the reception staff. I've been coming... More

This was the last hostel we stayed at after travelling round Italy and was so much fun! So social and easy to make friends from all over the world- although we traveled as a two I would happily go back again by myself as making friends was so easy and encouraged! Our room was surprisingly very clean although the air... More

While the rooms can be a little dated, they have a funky deco feel to them. Wifi is available in rooms and rooms are accessed by swipe cards. No locker facilities in room. Whilst the hostel does not have washing facilities, the next block has two laundromats that offer laundry for €10. The Yellow bar is busy of a night... More

The Yellow is close to Termini Station - Rome's equivalent of King's Cross. The rooms were clean, and mostly, the staff were friendly and helpful - however, expect to pay more than you thought - as there is a Rome City Charge - at €3 a night per person, and you'll have to pay it all up front. The people... More

Stayed in a 6 bedded female dorm, the air-con was centralized and I wore 2 jackets and a blanket and it was still so cold, we weren't allowed to open the windows so we had to withstand the freezing temperatures. The bar downstairs played loudly and people were rowdy till after midnight, making it difficult to sleep. Also, there were... More

Set in an amazing location close to the main train station in Rome, this hostel can easily double as a hotel. I was in a 4 person sharing room, only downside is the 4th bed was a pull out bunk bed. Not much in terms of size, but hey, was pretty good nights rest. The Yellow bar is is inviting... More

We opted to stay here because of the good reviews and its close to termini station. We cannot really fault anything it was just a pretty average stay in a hostel, nothin worth shouting about. It was clean, helpful reception staff, not far from termini or local tube station so was easy to get around, the bar across the way... More

A bit too expensive however the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very good also. The private room was quiet and spacious. The tours were good too however the walking tour was too long as it was hot.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
