Such a fun place to meet people!! Everyone is so friendly and happy to meet you! Cool place to just chill or party! The staff has people from all over the globe and everyone speaks English. They are all very helpful in recommending fun activities to do.

The yellow is a big hostel and hence has a good atmosphere. The dorm rooms are great. They have a bathroom and shower in each dorm and also have very good lockers. The hostel is located a short walk from the major train station and bus station in Rome and hence it is easy to get from the hostel to... More

stayed in a mixed dorm with my boyfriend - as much as you would expect, bunks, clean enough washroom. Great bar downstairs and patio to drink wine on! Elevator is old and a little sketchy, and if you take the stairs its quite a hike...that's old European buildings for ya though :) If I were to do a backpacking/hostel style... More

I stayed at the yellow for a total of about 8 nights and loved it! The yellow bar downstairs is a great place to meet people from the hostel as well as other travellers and Romans - the bar is open to everyone and is very popular! The staff were friendly and fun and the breakfast was a easy option... More

Good hostel for a weekend trip. I was travelling in December, stayed in a private room with 3 other friends (although we booked a 10-mixed dorm, they put us in a 4 bed room for the same price!) Good price (9euro/night), comfortable beds, private bathroom. TV, wifi. Everything what's needed for a short trip :) The only difficulty was extending... More

We liked the yellow so much that we stayed there twice in one trip. The rooms are clean and very functional - a power point by each bed with a private light and small shelf. A small safe for each person and a cage that can be locked that you put your luggage in. The bar downstairs has an excellent... More

In December 2010 a few of us lads decided to go to Rome. What a city. Our friend had carried out the research and decided YELLOW was the place for us. Good location, good price and a hostel...this will enable us to meet people and find good places to go. Tick on all counts. We were welcomed with open arms... More

+The hostel was amazing. The rooms were neat and clean and the staff was very friendly and fun. cleanest hostel i have ever visited. 24 hour reception comes in handy. Wifi always works nicely. Also the pub downstairs is nice place to drink at night since rome doesn't have a wild life. Plus security men are out the door at... More

The experience here at the Yellow was amazing. I stayed at the 4-person all-female dorm with one friend, and it was so clean and comfortable. As many people are saying, this is a party hostel so if your goal is a quiet place to sleep, try somewhere else. My friend and I would come home around 3 or 4 in... More

This hostel is fun for a party, great for meeting people and the bar always has something going on. Unfortunately there is no where in the whole hostel where you are permitted to drink outside alcohol, so if you want to drink it's at the bar and not all the cheap. The rooms were clean, the sheets were fresh and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
