Stayed here 2 nights in a 6 bed dorm in Mars. It is situated about 5 minutes walk north of the main train station but beware that the reception is across the street from the hostel rooms and the bar. The dorms and bathrooms was standard and clean but the Wifi had some downtime during our stay there. They have... More

Staff mistook my girlfriend and her friends reservations and put them in split bedrooms. Also, two couple entered the room and were having sex and not leting others sleep or enter the room. Staff didin't give a damn about it, they were more interested in going out with some clients.

The Yellow was one of my favorite hostels in Europe - a great price, and a nearby bar provide a welcoming atmosphere to any backpacker. No matter who you are, it should be easy to find someone to explore the city with, and the staff are happy to give great suggestions and instructions on how to explore the city. Some... More

My stay was 18 euro for one night. A decent 30 minute walk from the Colosseo and Forum. Does not include breakfast, however you can buy a good breakfast for 4 euro at their bar. Very good internet, clean sheets, and places to put your personal belongings. BRING YOUR OWN LOCK. Or you can buy one there for 3 euro.... More

The Yellow has such a friendly staff that once you enter that funny reception room, you immediately feel happy. The prices are very reasonable for the room you get, it is very clean and comfortable. The location is also very nice, it takes only 10-15 min. to get to Termini station on feet. On your way to Termini, you can... More

For students who don't like to spend too much on a room only to sleep in, this place is very, very good. Cheap, friendly atmosphere, the only problem was that I had to go and search for food every night, but it was not impossible.

The Yellow was very nice. It's a really quick walk from Termini station (about 5 mins) and is very centrally located. It is easy to take a shuttle bus from most major airports in Rome to Termini and then walk directly to the hostel. The rooms were extremely clean. I stayed in a 4 bed room with a private bath--the... Our clientele is mostly the young crowd but we have always had great experiences with the "older" crowd. They find our bar pretty fun and i guess brings back memories. We pick our staff only if they are really friendly and know how to party so yeah, it's a big plus for the guests and for us too! We hope... More

This place was perfect. The rooms are clean. Rooms are basic but perfect for an inexpensive option. Towels included as well as maid service. Hotel is modern but has old touches. Beds were comfortable and the whole place was clean. Loved our stay here!

The asset of this hostel is the location, near the Termini station and also the good prices. The rooms are wide but a bit empty really simple just with the beds and a plastic table. Also there is the benefit of having lots of restaurants, local stores and supermarkets around to get whatever you need. The staff is really friendly... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
