I love staying at The Yellow Hostel. Clean, close by, fun, comfortable and affordable!!! What else can you ask for a hostel?! Breakfast at 4 €, talking about real breakfast: bread, cheese, eggs, sausage and orange juice! Great! As a solo girl traveler I can say that this is a great place, near termini station, lonely but safe area, the... More

I almost gave 4 stars because they made us wait 40 minutes before we could check in, but they did upgrade my sister and I from a 6 bed dorm to a private room. (And we got pizza downstairs in the meantime while we held our buzzer) The hotel was nice and clean and had free wifi which is helpful... More

If you're thinking about backpacking or a budget stay in Rome, just book a bed at The Yellow. Do NOT stay anywhere else. You'll love it! Service, location and price were all brilliant. Special shout out to all the staff - Front desk and Bar specially for simply being happy to help out and serve.

We chose this hotel for a budget 4 night stay near the center of Rome and it's private room option. We are a pretty laid back couple in our late 20s, so we didn't really mind all of the backpacking teenagers staying here to party. Our room was small, but functional and clean. We were surprised that they didn't allow... More

In terms of the hostel itself, the room was very basic. Not the nicest and since I was all the way on the 5th floor, I could barely get the wifi. It was also really hot in the room and noisy outside. However, I did have the most fun at this hostel. The bar and free walking tour allowed me... More

The Yellow hostel is great for solo travellers. Reasonably priced and in a really good location. It's a bit of a walk (30 mins or so) into the tourist area but is very close to termini station so you could also get the metro anywhere. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and the hostel bar serves decent food.... More

Very friendly staff and good bar and food with great prices. Other reviews are right about the noise, I didn't sleep well because of it. Room was very clean. Also great location. Would recommend this place to friends.

A few weeks ago my friend and I stayed at The Yellow hostel in Rome. For the past 4 months we have been traveling around Europe staying at various hostels and have never had a problem until The Yellow. My friend and I traveled to Rome and paid extra specifically to stay in a 2 bed private room. We opted... More

It is very unfortunate that this happened to you guys. I apologize on behalf of the Yellow and I can assure you that we are working on improving this very room. If you could resend the email to pr@bc-hospitality.com because we never received an email. Thanks so much! More

I have never stayed at a hostel before but I must say The Yellow is the best! The place is not so far from the main station Termini (about 10 minutes walk). We were so lucky that they have upgraded our room to private room (apparently it was busy at that time so the dorms were full) price of the... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
