The asset of this hostel is the location, near the Termini station and also the good prices. The rooms are wide but a bit empty really simple just with the beds and a plastic table. Also there is the benefit of having lots of restaurants, local stores and supermarkets around to get whatever you need. The staff is really friendly... More

Yellow hostel was a fantastic experience. I was checked in by amazing staff, even though I accidentally went into the bar first (maybe I instinctively wanted a beer that badly). I was taken to my room which was an average sized dorm of 6 beds. The room was very clean. Towels are available if you give a deposit. This hostel... More

First off, for a large hostel, the staff there are awesome! Helpful, friendly and fun! From the bar tenders to the reception staff also Yellow's permanent party residents Stan + Hugh ! Bar is a great place to meet people, things on every night ! Food there is decent ( Quality and price). Breakfast is not included in price but... More

Possibly the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Located about ten minute walk from the main trian station. Rooms were really clean, spacious and not crammed with too many beds. Plus there are lockers for bags and safety deposit box's for valuables. All the staff members are amazing, helpful, genuine, and keen to have a drink with you. The... More

Overall this hostel was good in terms of hygiene and cost. The location was a bit far from the main area and all the monuments. I think we ended up catching a taxi. The atmosphere at the Yellow was fantastic.. whats its known for!

My stay was short, i slept in hostel 2 nights. Actually location is very nice as it is very close to station and no need to search for transport to get there. Bar downstairs looks fine due to old style decor of walls but smells awful and i did not take something from there:) I did not understand why in... More

This place is great, we had a private room (I think the worst one, right next to the stairs on the first floor) but it was still fantastic and not too noisy! the bar is fantastic and the breakfast is a good deal. The private room is basically hotel quality with two single beds next to each other. Will totally... More

Such a handy hostel! Really close to the termini station and easy to get a metro to the sights! The people who work there are so friendly, always ready to give advice on anything from the best place to get gelato to good tours :) It's so easy to meet people in the hostel with the bar/restaurant pretty much everyone... Whenever you are in Rome you have to come the "the yellow". I totally can recommend it. I'd always go back there. The people are a great international mixture, you can meet them from all over the world so easily. You never gonna be alone. Especially the staff is reason to come back. The receptionist Sara and João are great.... More

More of a hotel than a hostel - quite expensive - but quality is great. Good location - long and enjoyable walks to all major landmarks. Only really bad thing is no Kitchen. Cupboards don't count as a kitchen. Great wifi and helpful staff. Cheers.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
