I stayed at the yellow for 3 nights in Rome and compared to other hostels I've stayed in this one was average. It took at least 45 minutes to check in, the bathroom was pretty grubby and the staff all seemed to be waiting for each other to do things. The room had an odd layout, a broken window and... More

I stayed in this hostel in the beginning of July. The hostel was clean in general and the bed linen, bathrooms were clean too. They have a restaurant cum bar downstairs and it does get noisy...but as my room was on the upper floors, i didnt hear much. They have very nice tours for travellers and i would recommend them.... Stayed here in May 2015 with 5 friends. Was the best choice, the staff were friendly, the people we bunked with were very friendly. I advise the Yellow Bar- very reasonably priced and good fun! The wifi was really good. it even worked outside on the street.

This is one of the most popular hostel in Rome but before choosing this place you must know what to expect. As an accommodation, the rooms are simple and lack practicality. There is not enough plugs in the rooms, you need a padlock for the cages and the beds are a little worn down. Bathroom are clean and more practical... More

The hostel is great, don’t get me wrong. There are just a few downsides that I feel I should post as a warning. There is at least one bad cleaning staff person that will steal any money that’s left out so please make sure to lock up all of your valuables. I don’t blame the hostel for this pathetic cleaning... My friend and I stayed in a 4 bed dormitory which was only a couple of pound per night extra than the larger dormitories. The beds were comfy with clean linen, however the room was obviously an old double bedroom turned into a dormitory which meant there were only plug sockets by two beds and the desk, and not near... Off to a city trip to Rome with a friend we decided to stay at the Yellow for it's awesome location and ver affordable price. We got there pretty late at night but the staff remained nonetheless very welcoming and helpful. One of them took us to our dorm. Very basic yet comfortable bunk beds (perfect after a long day... Only stayed here a night, fantastic location, in the heart of the city, around the corner from the metro Wish I got to enjoy the night atmosphere, so many young fun people, the place to stay for it! Stayed in a 4 bedroom female dorm, facilities were all good, a bit of a hike up to the room however. Overall... More

The location of this hostel is great and it's perfect for young travellers with a great bar attached to it. We were disappointed to find there was no wifi and when we approached the staff they weren't helpful at all. The rooms were quite dirty with mould everywhere. Our shower door and aircon was also broken which wasn't good during... More

When I arrived to this hostel after my 14hr plus flight across the world, I was greeted with a ridiculously hot and humid room on the 4th floor or so of the building. Yes it had a fan, but it didn't do anything to help. Also the culture of this hostel is absolutely ALL about getting super drunk and partying,... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
