This was an excellent hotel considering we were in Rome and minutes from the Vatican. Clean and tidy, efficient staff and an absolutely superb view from the roof terrace where breakfast is served. 10 euros taxi to the centre and minutes from tourist bus and metro makes this a preference stay to those in the centre which are more expensive.... Maison royale does not exist. It is a dependence of the hotel Atlante. Resgistering and the keys are to be fetched there. Thanks to a former review I knew that. It should be mentioned in the ad. If you expect a full hotel service, do not go there. However, if you love a mix of antique, very spacious and fully... More

My wife, son, and I stayed here for two nights after taking the Western Med Cruise. The room was very clean and spacious with a small refrigerator which was very handy. The price was very reasonable despite its proximity to the Vatican - walk a few blocks and you are there. The breakfast (included in the price) at the Hotel... More

Now, this is not a hotel. This is a stairway to an appartment converted to Bed & Breakfast rooms. Not bad at all, the rooms where clean and nice and felt like hotel rooms having passed the mildew stairwairs next to the hotel. I still give it 4 stars because of the 600 meters to the Vatican´and the roof restaurant... More

We stayed here for two nights before we left for a cruise out of Rome. We picked this hotel after a long search for a reasonably priced hotel for 5 people ( 2 adults and 3 kids). It is very difficult to find a hotel for 5 in Rome without paying a fortune per night. We paid 445 euros (... More

We visited Rome during the w/o 5/14/13. This was an excellent value for the price paid and its an ideal location since your in the heart of the city. It's essential that you know that the Atlante Star hotel is the owner of this property (only ~50 feet away) where you check in and have your complementary breakfast. Our room... More

We stayed two nights. Room was clean and comfortable and a short walk from both the Vatican/St Peters and Castel Sant'Angelo. Also very convenient for some good restaurants and shops. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and the rooftop restaurant with the amazing view of St Peters was a real treat.

This B&B comprises rooms in an apartment building about a block from the main hotel where you check in and have breakfast. The Atlante chain have two hotels here, plus this annex. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. Decor was in good order and there was reasonable space. Security was good with a locked gate to a small courtyard... More

It was 5 stars Hotel in very good location. We were really satisfied. View from the restaurant (where we had breakfast) was amazing. It was included in the price. Prices in the hotel bar were little bit higher. Hotel staff was very helpful.

Great service for very reasonable price. Hostel is situated 5 minutes from Vatican and similar distance from Angel´s Palac. Metro is not far either. Very cosy rooms. Breakfast that is included in the price may eat in the restaurant on the 6th floor where you will find extraordinary panorama of the city. For sure will come back.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
