This is a place to sleep while you're in Rome, and not much else. The lobby and lobby bar are nice, but the rooms are spartan, even by Rome standards. No decor at all. The bathrooms are modernized, clean and nice. The location is okay because it is close to one of the urban ring train stations (Trastevere), but the... More

Nice little place. They are renovating at the moment, but hardly noticed it. Rooms are clean, everything you need, but small. Very friendly staff, they are very willing to help you get around. Nice breakfast and good location! Tram 8 stops in front of the hotel and brings you to piazza Venezia in a couple of minutes

I was shocked! The first day was very nice, friendly staff, etc. In the room i found an old used tissue and a lot of dirt in the bathroom. Perhaps they just forgot to clean the room. ..okay... but from day to day the stuff was more and more unfriendly. If you ask sth. they just told you "it's not... More

Dear Stefanie, I was very surprised by your comment! This hotel certainly has weaknesses on which this new management has put much effort as the interior restyling and some bathrooms renovation that, obviously cleaned daily, are actually quite vintage (this is a district of historic buildings!) What really surprised us, however, is the assessment you gave to our staff: in... More

The staff at Villa Rosa Hotel is spectacular! I was over 45 minutes late to breakfast and they reopened the restaurant just for me. Everyone was very helpful and gracious. English spoken very well. Room was very clean and beds were well maintained. Good location.

The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and big enough, the breakfast is better than average hotels in Rome...the station is not to far from Villa Rosa and the staff members are more than willing to direct you to the main attractions near the hotel...we will come back..

We were greeted by a very professional and friendly young lady. Check in was no problem. The room was basic, with a private bath room, hot water, and a decent shower. The hotel is not easy to find and is a good thirty minute walk from the Tiber, and trendy section of Trastevere . It is not in an attractive... More

We stayed in the hotel 4 nights and I cant find nothing to complain about, as we know it is going to be simple place to stay. Room was very clean and staff super friendly. We also enjoyed the breakfast what was also very simple, Italian style :) Coffee in the breakfast was not that good though, but there is... More

Well, the reviews on Trip Advisor helped me to find this hotel but I must admit I was not prepared to climb the 44 steps up from the street with 80 pounds of luggage just to get to the front door. I am sure there is another way to arrive by car but on foot, this is the only way... More

Had a little hard time to find it when arriving to Trastevere trainsation. Esiest is to go to your left hand side up the first street ant take the first steps on the right side of the street. Stairs take you straight to the hotel. Friendly staff. Old building with carpets all over (luckily not in the room). The room... More

Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
