The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and big enough, the breakfast is better than average hotels in Rome...the station is not to far from Villa Rosa and the staff members are more than willing to direct you to the main attractions near the hotel...we will come back..

We were greeted by a very professional and friendly young lady. Check in was no problem. The room was basic, with a private bath room, hot water, and a decent shower. The hotel is not easy to find and is a good thirty minute walk from the Tiber, and trendy section of Trastevere . It is not in an attractive... More

We stayed in the hotel 4 nights and I cant find nothing to complain about, as we know it is going to be simple place to stay. Room was very clean and staff super friendly. We also enjoyed the breakfast what was also very simple, Italian style :) Coffee in the breakfast was not that good though, but there is... More

Well, the reviews on Trip Advisor helped me to find this hotel but I must admit I was not prepared to climb the 44 steps up from the street with 80 pounds of luggage just to get to the front door. I am sure there is another way to arrive by car but on foot, this is the only way... More

Had a little hard time to find it when arriving to Trastevere trainsation. Esiest is to go to your left hand side up the first street ant take the first steps on the right side of the street. Stairs take you straight to the hotel. Friendly staff. Old building with carpets all over (luckily not in the room). The room... More

Some times location has more to do with a hotel's success than what it really has to offer. That would be the case for the Villa Rosa. This tired old and ill appointed hotel has been left to deteriorate by it's owners to a state where it is only held together by the outstanding day manageress and the wonderful staff... More

This hotel is charming and about a block away from one of the street "staircases" that lead down to the beach. We had an upstairs room that had an ocean view and it was amazing. It was like standing in a postcard!

This hotel looks great from the website pictures and gives you a nice (yet, false) sense of good quality. My stay in Villa Rosa was to be for 13 nights. After 11 of them, I could take no more and left (I should have left long before, but I didn't). Lets go with the positive aspects of the hotel first:... More

We stayed at this hotel twice in May 2014, (beginning of our trip and at the end as we flew in and out of Rome). The first stay was okay, the receptionist was friendly (although was vague answering my questions about markets nearby, obviously she wanted us to opt for the 7 euro per person breakfast they serve). We didn't... More

The one thing that can be said about the hotel is its location to the train station. It is a short walk, but you have to be prepared to listen to the traffic that passes by during the night - including that of the trains. The room itself was fairly cheap, but it wasn't the best value I've found in... More

Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
