Let’s put things in perspective: my triple room was €74, a double room was €45. These kind of rooms could easily sell for double the price in Rome. This was my third or fourth time at Villa Rosa and my umpteenth in Rome. As a matter of fact, the room was clean, even if it could use a touch of... More

Villa Rosa is a small hotel very near to Trastevere train station, where you can catch the local train (8€) to Fiumicino airport in 25 minutes. Area surrounding the station looks a bit rough (excellent cappuccino in bar Baffo!), but the hotel is situated in a more quiet area. Our AC covered all possible noise from the outside, so we... This is a place to sleep while you're in Rome, and not much else. The lobby and lobby bar are nice, but the rooms are spartan, even by Rome standards. No decor at all. The bathrooms are modernized, clean and nice. The location is okay because it is close to one of the urban ring train stations (Trastevere), but the... More

Nice little place. They are renovating at the moment, but hardly noticed it. Rooms are clean, everything you need, but small. Very friendly staff, they are very willing to help you get around. Nice breakfast and good location! Tram 8 stops in front of the hotel and brings you to piazza Venezia in a couple of minutes

I was shocked! The first day was very nice, friendly staff, etc. In the room i found an old used tissue and a lot of dirt in the bathroom. Perhaps they just forgot to clean the room. ..okay... but from day to day the stuff was more and more unfriendly. If you ask sth. they just told you "it's not... More

Dear Stefanie, I was very surprised by your comment! This hotel certainly has weaknesses on which this new management has put much effort as the interior restyling and some bathrooms renovation that, obviously cleaned daily, are actually quite vintage (this is a district of historic buildings!) What really surprised us, however, is the assessment you gave to our staff: in... More

The staff at Villa Rosa Hotel is spectacular! I was over 45 minutes late to breakfast and they reopened the restaurant just for me. Everyone was very helpful and gracious. English spoken very well. Room was very clean and beds were well maintained. Good location.

We were greeted by a very professional and friendly young lady. Check in was no problem. The room was basic, with a private bath room, hot water, and a decent shower. Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
