Several other reviews really slammed this place, however we arrived with the expectation that this accommodation was more of a hostel configuration, and for that it ticked all the boxes. The bed was comfortable with adequate linen and bedroom heating to warm up a cold winter body. The room was very tidy and clean, including the bathroom which appeared to... More

Be prepared for a major disappointment. You should only stay here if your desperate or really just need a room near the bus stop to get to the Rome airport. Wi-fi was not working, shower did not drain, they charged for towels, breakfast is not necessarily provided (the food is there for you to prepare), the building itself seems unsafe... More

I booked this place because of its price and location (1 block away from the Termini train station), but the pictures I saw while booking were quite deceiving. Our room was extremely small and the bathroom was tiny. The toilet was so close to the wall that if I had been any taller (I am 5'8"), I would have had... More

The Best Place B&B was ironically one of the worst places we've stayed in. The only positive thing about the hotel is it's location, being a 2 minute walk to Roma Termini. Walking to the main attractions such as the Trevi Fountain etc also only takes around 15-20 minutes. For 46 euro a night, what you get is closer to... More

The only good thing about this B&B is the location, we stayed there for 5 nights and it was extremely hot (39 degrees) we had no A/C in the room and we only had a crappy fan, the room was ok, but prostitutes work in the area and they use the building's stairs and basement to "service" their clients, the... So, I decided to stay in this b&b due to its location and relatively good price. The overall idea I have of it all now that it is over, is that of slight disgust. I did not expect much, given the money I paid for it. Nevertheless, I expected more than that. To be more precise, the location is indeed... More

This little place, is really wonderful! I was very impressed with it (we've traveled a lot and since we do look for the "more value for less cost", take it from me, this is worth it!) The place was VERY clean, very nicely decorated in terms of the walls being painted, and pretty/cozy lamp shades, bright curtains... just very welcoming... More

We stayed here for 5 nights. The only positive things I can say about this place is it was very clean and the location is priceless. The rooms were cleaned everyday although our towels weren't changed. You can't beat this location. So close to the termini station and so easy to get around Rome. Restaurants and shops nearby also. The... More

Ok, so there's a line and this place was so far past the line that the line wasnt even a dot on the horizon! Truly, truly horrific. I guarantee that the coat I was wearing was worth more than the contents of the entire 'apartment' added together (it may even have been worth more than the apartment itself considering the... More

This is a wonderful place to stay in Rome if you know exactly what you need and you're on a budget. The location is great indeed, very close to Termini Station and all types of transportation within the city. If you don't mind walking, the city centre is only 30 minutes away. The rooms are small, but very clean and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
