My husband and I just returned from a cruise leaving out of Rome. We wanted to stay in a hotel close to Termini Train Station. We were very happy with our choice to stay at Hotel Galli. When we landed in Rome, we took the Terravision bus (4 Euros) from the Rome airport straight to the Termini Station. Perfect idea... More

Despite its two star rating, the hotel was clean and the good size room had every facility we required. The location is very good situated to the north of termini station (the better side) about 150 metres, here there are plenty of bars and some good restaurants offering proper Italian food ,not the touristy crap that is dominant towards the... A good clean hotel near the Roma Termini station. It's a 2-3 minutes walk from the station and has lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. This hotel is at the second floor and recommended for light travellers coz as mentioned by other visitors, it has a very tiny elevator, good for one person with one luggage only. it was... More

This is a really good hotel to stay at if you need to be near the Termini train station. It is very safe because the door to the street is always closed and you need to buzz in to enter. Plus you need to give back your keys every time you leave the hotel which is good because this means... More

Hats off to the Roslan, our concierge extraordinaire!!! He was there when my sister and I checked in and I had actually thought I booked another hotel with a similar name that had 4 stars. So you can imagine my shock when we arrived and found a 2 star hotel. I travel 'a lot' and I couldn't believe I made... More

Stayed here for one night. The young man working the night shift was extremely helpful. A friend I was traveling with left her phone in a taxi cab and he called all the taxi companies in the area. He asked them to give him a call if it turns up. It never did of course, but we still appreciated the... More

I travel quite a bit in both the US and Europe, and pay close attention to hotel ratings. I can't believe that Hotel Galli is rated 4 stars! I am giving it 2 stars only because the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The lady that checked us in spoke little English, but she tried hard and recommended a very... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
