Nice hotel, friendly staff, exceptional cleanliness of rooms, but uncomfortable beds which were very difficult to sleep on. You pay extra for breakfast, which we didn't take since you can get a nice cup of coffee round the corner. Good transport links. Take a direct train (air conditioned, 4.80 euro one way) from St.Peter's train station to Santa Marinella for... More

Hotel Silla was great value for money. It's in a great location, 10 minute walk from the Vatican and 2 minutes from the local metro station. The area felt safe and was nice and quiet at night. Easily accessible and the staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable. Would definitely recommend for a cheap... More

We stay at this lovely hotel our last days in Rome, and believe me was awesome!! Very near from the Vatican and few steps far the subway, there are a lot of nice places to eat near the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Near Julius Caesar Street and the great Trifonale market, just north of the Vatican wall, this very neat hotel has levels of security starting with a night gate at the street and a passage gate before the lovely stone stairs. Someone is at the desk, first floor, all hours. Around the corner is the Metro. A well priced choice, this... More

We had trouble finding the hotel because of all of the one way and restricted streets in that area and around the river. If you are in a taxi, they can easily reach it. If you are driving, be careful planning your route. We would recommend dropping the car at the airport and taking a taxi. Will be much quicker.... More

For a quadruple room, Hotel Silla is one of the cheapest you can find near the Vatican City. The rooms are clean and the toilets/showers are well maintained. They have English speaking staff members which was great as we had enough trouble in Paris. It is close to the metro station and just about 5-minutes from the Vatican Museums which... More

We stayed at the Hotel Silla for 10 days in May and had a delightful time. The multi-lingual staff did everthing they could to make our stay pleasant. They called taxis for us, made tour reservations and responded to every request. The room was small by American standards, but average by European standards for a room in an old city... More

The owners were charming and a delight. The rooms were very comfortable. The location near the Vatican was terrific! Close to the Metro stop. They recommended a few restaurants that were fantastic. Hope to return someday and will definitely stay here again.

We stayed a night at this hotel where the smell of the nearby bakery was very strong and annoying, and above that you could hear all the bakers loudly talking and arguing all the time, no matter what time of the night. The rooms and shower was super small and above all the internet we paid to use in our... More

I first stayed at this hotel in 2001, 2010 and now again for 6 nights in 2013. The location cannot be beat, and the owner Nunzio is very nice and accommodating. The hotel was renovated recently, and expanded from 12 to 16 rooms over the years. The rooms are very clean (I perform a check now, after watching Hotel Impossible,... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
