I recommend this hotel to travelers looking to stay in a convenient , clean, quiet , and affordable hotel in Rome. I was in Rome for 9 days to attend a Conference at the FAO headquarters and do the sights in the weekend. Staying at the Royal Home Hotel allowed me to easily move around Rome using the Metro and... I stayed here for 4 nights during a conference at the nearby Univerista Roma Tre. It's a convenient location, right next to the Metro B line (the station is Basilica San Paolo), which offers a 12 minute journey right to Termini in the center of the city for EUR 1.50. The staff were very helpful. My Italian is almost non-existent,... More

stayed here overnight, fast WiFi in room (password from reception), clean, behind MacDonald and pizza shop, very helpful reception, beside train line with only local train noise and double glazed windows for light sleepers (me), was not told about breakfast (we were in a hurry anyway and didn't have much time for breakfast), We would stay here again for its... My one big complaint: the description for Royal Home (on wotif.com) advertised 'breakfast included', however it failed to note that this involved being given a coupon for a croissant and coffee at the McDonald's down the road. Otherwise, it was clean and relatively well situated, however the staff weren't as gracious as described in other reviews.

Up to the day we arrived in Rome, we assumed we had booked a room at the "Hotel Royal House." Once we figured it out, we were a little disappointed since that hotel is right next to the Colosseum. However, things turned out for the best. The Royal Home offered a reprieve from the activity in the tourist areas and... More

I recently stayed at the Royal Home for 7 days during my vacation to Rome. The Hotel was very close to the Metro (Basilica San Paolo) and several buses. The hotel was clean and nicely maintained. It is a small inn with a friendly staff who was helpful and polite. There is a computer in the lobby for internet access,... More

This is a lovely, excellent value, refuge to come "home" to after a hard day of sight-seeing. We are a family with 2 kids, ages 6 and 10, and found the room #10 ideal, the staff gracious, and the breakfast (included) very generous. We liked staying out of the rush of the historic center. It took a few extra minutes... More
