The good: Near ancient Rome, with the Colosseum visible from the entry door. Safe, given a keyed metal entry door/gate. Clean. Very nice decor in the bathroom. Hot shower with shampoo and soap provided. Very friendly and accommodating service. Three person rate under 80 Euros*. Close to many sites and restaurants. It is what it is: Beds neither great nor... We stayed in one of the suites and absolutely loved it. I can't remember the name of the guy at the front desk but he was super nice and gave us a map and told all the must see sites! The rooms were very clean. The locations was perfect. It was my first time to Rome and I had no... More

This is our third review of the Sunset Roma and like the GUEST HOUSE itself, our review remains consistent. We have just completed our 14th night - Spread out over several stays before & after cruising. Returning to the Sunset Roma is like returning home. If you're looking for a North American-style hotel, keep researching but if you're looking for... More

We stayed at Sunset Roma for 3 nights to start out our Italian adventure and really loved it. We booked a double room through Expedia and were upgraded to a two room flat when we arrived. We were greeted at reception and had help carrying our large suitcase up the stairs. The location was perfect to go in any direction... More

My wife and I stayed at the Sunset Roma for 4 days and we were very happy with the accomodations and service. The room was cute, clean and very well maintained. Best of all we were just about equidistant from every sight that we wanted to see. We were within a 15 minute walk of everything including the Colloseo, Trevi... More

very nice guest house close to a quiet and safe area in rome. the hotel was 300m from the colosseum and 1km from the train station. rooms are nice with good wireless internet, air conditioner and nice beds. there's a nice small gym, but very hot. VERY friendly staff(the owner lives here). do not expect a hotel with 24h reception

My husband, 2 teenage kids, and I spent 3 nightly in the Sunset Roma after reading reviews online. We were not disappointed. The Collesseum is close by and really most of the city is within walking distance (granted we did about 10 miles walking a day). The local neighbourhood had good restaurants and a lively square that locals hang out... More

I have stayed here for 4 years in a row now. The location is perfect for Rome sightseeing, personally I walk everywhere from this location. This is a warm neighbourhood with many good restaurants and shops on the same street. The rooms are modern, fresh and nice to spend time in, big bathrooms with great water pressure. Andrea is friendly... More

We arrived in Rome by train and this hotel was in walking distance of the main station or you could take just one stop on the metro to get a bit closer. The host at the hotel was awesome. Very accessible and gave us great recommendations on just about everything including advice to not pay for a tour of ancient... More

We LOVED our stay at Sunset Roma. To begin you literally walk out the door and can see the Colosseum at the end of the street. It's a 8-10 minute walk! We were greater by a super friendly owner and were given a great room. It was basically a suite with 2 rooms, 2 tvs and a small balcony. It... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
