If you're looking for an American-style hotel, move on. The young guy running things, Andreas, was super nice and although the room was small and the hot water dicey, location was superb, 8 blocks from the Vatican and right above a metro stop. It's a little hard to find. You go into an unmarked door and go up to the... More

I would love to be able to rate this place more highly but it really was the worst place we stayed in Europe. The staff were so lovely and friendly, however, the place was in desperate need of some TLC. Our room (number 1) was a reasonable size but not overly clean, the sheets had holes in them and the... Tomas Bed & Breakfast is a really nice place with cosey rooms. We loved the plants, the place where you can have breakfast and service from the receptionist. The moment we came, we felt at home, also the hospitality and cleanliness is great. Next time I go to Rome, I will book with them again! With kind regards, A.

This is an excellent location close to the Vatican if you want to be in the area. Room rate was cheap and it is very convenient to the metro station also. The room that we had was very tiny with a very small bathroom with a tiny shower stall. Well, at least we had a bathroom. Our friends who booked... More

Very good service and very good people The location is excellent. It is mear the Vatican, The metro station is only few meters from the hotel. The room was clean and they provided me good tips to visit rome. I think that was the best option for the price.. .

Lovely little B&B walking distance from the Vatican! Antonio and Luciano are both lovely and go out of their way to be helpful and give food/shopping/sight-seeing recommendations. Rooms are cozy with little personal touches-- they're also tiny, but really, if you're going to spend your time in a hotel, why are you in Rome? The door is steps away from... More

I made my reservation in May 2011. I exchanged several emails regarding dates, times, etc. Everything was set for our vacation in September 2011. The Friday before we left for Rome, I sent an email to confirm our arrival on Sunday. Everything was all set. When we arrived on Sunday, the elevator was broken so we climbed to the fifth... More

Nice clean B&B in great location. Round the corner from The Vatican, subway just outside. Good restaurants in walking distance and easy walk to most of Rome tourist attractions. There was a problem with the plumbing in our room so our 1st night was in a very small room not much bigger than a cupboard. Tomas was most apologetic and... More

We chose B&B Tomas after reviewing tons of hostels and hotels. Actually it was by mistake that we clicked on them. After reading the reviews, we chose it. The best thing: the location, just 5 min from the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Square; plus, just 20 steps from the building entrance to the metro...you dont even have to cross... More

Perfect location for sightseeing as it's only a few blocks to the Vatican and it's right at a metro station. Interesting street but very safe, even late at night. Antonio is a gracious host and very helpful. I had a room with private bath which was really nice. It was incredibly small with a bed smaller than a US twin... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
