Very clean hotel in good location. For sure we will be back. The thing that made our trip was hospitality of staff. Perfect location for travelers using plane - straight conection between both airports and termini station via shettle bus. Close to historical city centre points. Small bathroom, but enough.

This hotel had great service and was located just a few minutes (walk) from Termini train station. It was clean, the staff was so friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was AMAZING (our best free breakfast on our whole trip!). I would recommend this hotel for a short term stay - we flew into Rome and left the next... More

Had a wonderful time in Rome, staying three nights in this Hotel. The staff were very warm and welcoming and speak very good English. The room and bed were both very comfortable, with a T.V. , a small fridge , kettle and a hair dryer in the bathroom. The location is great, two streets and a five minute walk to... More

I had reserved two nights at Hotel Maryelen for the beginning and end of my son and daughter-in-law's honeymoon, reason being it was close to Termini train station. I had told the reservationist that they would be arriving very late (around midnight) on June 26. I paid up front, and when the couple arrived they were told the hotel was... More

is never enough! Our stay at Hotel Maryelen was wonderful. Our rooms were clean & the hosts were welcoming. The beds we're extremely firm, which some of our family loved. The hotel is well situated, close to Termini, but not too busy. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Coliseum and even shorter if you take the bus. They... More

This was my third stay at Hotel MaryElen. From previous experience I knew we would be staying at a location that was clean, safe and friendly. As they say location location location. Being but a few blocks from the train station and buses made moving around Rome quite easy. The rooms are very basic but comfortable, clean, equipped with the... More

My wife and I stayed here in late April. The welcome is very warm and friendly. The rooms are spotless and the service is very good. We paid 110 euros per night for 7 nights, so we expected the hotel to be an above average three star. The breakfast, we found to be rather ordinary and is served in the... More

My husband and I have just returned from 4 nighrs staying in this hotel in Rome. All the staff in this family run hotel were very helpful and welcoming. The location of the hotel is excellent and all the main sights are walkable. There are many restaurants around to choose from. Our stay was excellent value for money and we... More

We enjoyed this little place. Laurie, the hostess of the family-run hotel, was friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. The rooms were small, a bit dated, but clean. A basic breakfast was provided. The location near Termini station is fantastic. I would happily return.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
