We spent 5 days at the Hotel in July 2015 ,the heat in Rome was exceptionally hot so our air conditioned room was a haven of cool ! Our bedroom was in the house next door in a very recently refurbished room with an excellent bathroom with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water. The room overlooked the pretty... More

It was my daughter's first visit to Rome and Testevere was just what she was hoping for. Our room was in the older section and it was just fine, lovely old tiled floor and all. The staff was very helpful and engaging and gave us good tips for food and sites. We happened upon Lungo il Tevere, just across the... More

Hello dear guest! Thank you very much for having spent your time on writing about Hotel Domus Tiberina! We are glad that you liked the most thypical section of the property: some of our rooms still have a 18th century floor and some others have a modern style: for all tastes! Our staff is always happy to give good tips... More

I experienced to types of room during my stay: in the refurbished building and the old one. The new room was very comfortable, although a bit noisier than the old one - which is not uncommon in Italy anyway. The new room was perfect for an extended stay. The old room, for my last night, was smaller, but very cosy... More

For a first visit to Rome, Trastevere was the perfect neghborhood, and this was such a great hotel! The woman who checked us in was so friendly (and very proficient in English) and familiar with the neighborhood. She directed us to da Enzo, right down the street, which turned out to be possibly our best meal in Italy. The hotel... More

I stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend. The staff were nothing but accomodating. We had a room in the new section, which you need a key to get into from the street, this was no problem to us! Our room was ultra modern as was the bathroom. Bed was so comfy and everything was kept really clean. There... More

Stayed here in April with two friends. It is perfectly situated to reach all the sites by foot. The room was perfectly adequate for three people, clean and tidy with a good bathroom. Breakfast at the cafe Terra Satis around the corner was good, the cafe is well used by locals and became our local for happy hour with Aperol spritzers!... More

During my 10 day holiday in Rome, I have stayed in Hotel Domus Tiberina. This hotel is situated in Trastevere, a perfect location to explore the city. Walking along the Tiber, you quickly are in the Vatican or at the Piazza Venentia, and nice restaurants are all around! The room in which I stayed was large, and… brand new! Also... More

It's a little hotel in the heart of Rome! Me and my boyfriend stayed there for a weekend, and we really appreciated the staff! they suggested us the best things to do in the city! Our room was at first floor, little but completely new, with the essential things we needed.

Excellant location. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Good price for basic room. Safe in room and excellant wifi service. Breakfast at the local cafe an added bonus. Lacking a place to hang clothes and walls thin but overall very pleased.

What a fabulous location and very friendly staff. It is a great place to stay if you want to see the city and don't mind having basic accommodation. The rooms are clean, small but full of character and the bed was clean and comfortable. However, the hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating. Breakfast is served in a neighbouring... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
