Stayed here in April with two friends. It is perfectly situated to reach all the sites by foot. The room was perfectly adequate for three people, clean and tidy with a good bathroom. Breakfast at the cafe Terra Satis around the corner was good, the cafe is well used by locals and became our local for happy hour with Aperol spritzers!... More

During my 10 day holiday in Rome, I have stayed in Hotel Domus Tiberina. This hotel is situated in Trastevere, a perfect location to explore the city. Walking along the Tiber, you quickly are in the Vatican or at the Piazza Venentia, and nice restaurants are all around! The room in which I stayed was large, and… brand new! Also... More

It's a little hotel in the heart of Rome! Me and my boyfriend stayed there for a weekend, and we really appreciated the staff! they suggested us the best things to do in the city! Our room was at first floor, little but completely new, with the essential things we needed.

Excellant location. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Good price for basic room. Safe in room and excellant wifi service. Breakfast at the local cafe an added bonus. Lacking a place to hang clothes and walls thin but overall very pleased.

What a fabulous location and very friendly staff. It is a great place to stay if you want to see the city and don't mind having basic accommodation. The rooms are clean, small but full of character and the bed was clean and comfortable. However, the hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating. Breakfast is served in a neighbouring... More

My wife and I were travelling with friends on our first visit to Italy in June/July of this year. One of our very frugal friends had booked our final two nights at the Domus Tiberina. While I was initially a little surprised at the size of our room (or lack of) it didn't matter because we spent very little time... More

The hotel is situated in a picturesque little cobblestoned square in Trastevere. There are two restaurants exactly under it and a small coffee place, where I swear I tasted the best cappucino I've ever had in my life. The stuff is very polite, smily and helpfull and the breakfast is descent. However: you can hear everything from the nearby rooms... More

excellent location, small piazza in a quiet corner of Rome, but 10 mins from the Coliseum, 20-30 min from Vatican. 5 min to the heart of Travesere a wonderful, vibrant area - lots of cafes, restaurants, bars, tiny unique little shops. Locals and tourists alike mix - no louts :) Hotel is quiet, clean, staff really friendly and helpful -... More

I stayed here for two nights in a very small room. After the second night I had to do some work in the room, and the cleaning lady decided not to clean my room since I was in there. I then went out for the rest of the day and of course my room was never cleaned. I came back... More

My wife and daughters stayed for 4 nights at this lovely and quiet hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. They had a balcony that they could sit on. Location is perfect. It's on the south side of the Tiber-a minute's walk to the bridge that connects you to the city. Close to the Ghetto area.... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
