Not only was this hotel a great value, but being considered "part of the family" (Giuseppe, Marco, Alina, Maria Teresa, Mama Teresa, and Papa Mario) made for a memorable experience! Mama's breakfasts were unbelievably good in quality and variety, and equal to those offered by hotels 5 - 10 times the size of Hotel Golden. It is about 3 -... More

We very much enjoyed our stay here - three nights. Guiseppi and Marco could not have been more helpful. There are plenty of good restaurants in very close proximity and Harry's Bar is around the corner! The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast room is somewhat cramped but this was a relatively minor point. We tended to get... More

After reading TripAdvisor reviews we decided to stay at the golden "hotel",the staff are friendly but that does not change the fact that it is a b&b not a hotel, its on the first floor only of a corner building, with one passage for which you have a tiny reception desk and the bedrooms on the same passage ,one very small breakfast... Stayed at the Hotel Golden on our recent trip to Rome. From the moment we walked in the door, we were made to feel very welcome. The room was spotless and comfortable and breakfast, cooked by Mama, was delicious. All members of the family were helpful with suggestions of what to see, where to go, where to eat and how... More

When trying to decide on a hotel in Rome, we looked through the Trip Advisor reviews. Hotel Golden was the only hotel we found that had no negative reviews. Therefore, we thought we should try it as well. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The welcoming, warm, family atmosphere are features that you cannot put a price on. Gussippie and... More

We stayed at the Golden Hotel/Hotel Golden for a short tour of Rome, The owners could not do enough to make us feel welcome and to make our time in Rome easier or more fun. They are all energetic, hard working and knowledgeable. They gave us a delicious breakfast that was prepared by the Grandmother of the family. Every morning... More

This was a good find for us, it wasn't bustling with numerous rooms and breakfast queues. Our room 110 was round the corner, all rooms are on one floor and I guess next to the dining room could be noisy if you wanted a late breakfast but most people had more than enough to be out at a reasonable time.... From the moment that you ring the doorbell on Via Marche 84 Roma, you know that something unique is going to happen. First, it's the ride upstairs in a fancy, vintage wrought-iron cage elevator. Next, it's Guiseppe's personalized Rome sightseeing. strategy on a map, laden with highlighted walking tours, restaurants, attractions. Giuseppe is proud of his city and hotel, and... More

We stayed one night at the Hotel Golden. It was the perfect place to stay after a cruise. The level of personal service is exemplary. There was a major fire at Rome Airport the night before we were due to fly out and Giuseppe went out of way to keep us informed when the airport would reopen. Our flight wasn't... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
