We picked this hotel due to the good reviews on Tripadvisor and its high rating for value for money. We were not disappointed. The family that runs the hotel were friendly and welcoming. Giuseppe, with his excellent English, was particularly helpful. The local restaurant he sent us to on our first night was the best meal we had in Rome... More

From the moment we arrived at the Hotel Golden we were greeted like friends. Being a family-run hotel made the experience extra special. We were given lots of great information and the staff knew what we wanted recommending non-touristy restaurants and had great tips of what to see and do and how to get around in Rome. The room itself... More

This is a great wee hotel close enough to walk to all the major tourist attractions in Rome, but in a quiet enough neighbourhood such that a good night's sleep isn't a problem. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful and make you feel very welcome. They show you where everything is in relation to the hotel, draw... More

this was the cleanest most beautiful hotel. The whole family was at your service willing to help with transportation, Suggestions on where to eat, and maps and directions on how to get around Rome. When I come back to Rome I will definitely stay here again. The breakfast was phenomenal. Truly an unforgettable experience.

This is by no means a luxury hotel, but what you will get at this hotel is a very warm welcome a clean and comfortable place to stay with a very good breakfast. The owners will take time to explain everywhere worth visiting including restaurants and mark them on a map. A taxi from the airport cost 48 euro which... More

This family run hotel has a wonderful location (across the street from Borghese Park). Perfect rooms and delicious breakfasts. Their dining recommendations were just right for our family. The coffee shop downstairs was an excellent supplement. I can recommend it for families and couples.

I stayed at the Hotel Golden in March 2015 with my husband and five year old daughter. We chose the hotel because we wanted to be outside the frenetic centre and closer to residential Roman life. It is a terrific location for those who like to explore on foot - everything was easily accessible and the proximity to the Villa... More

My sister and I had spoken about going to Italy together since high school. Finally, after 12 years, we did it. I scoured the internet looking for the best place to stay during our time in Rome, and I kept seeing all of these wonderful reviews for Hotel Golden. Everything is true! It is like staying with family! Fresh cooked... More

We stayed during Easter week at this cozy hotel in the heart of Rome. Walking distance to the subway 10min. Very nicely laid out room and the breakfast was wonderful! They made us feel at home. Very diligent in getting our missing luggage from the airport. Giuseppe was so helpful! Told us where to go to eat, places to see.... More

The Loria family made us feel welcome. They we wonderful in making suggestions for dinner, arranging for transportation to the airport, and providing directions to points of interest. I would definitely stay with them again if I have the chance to return to Rome! Breakfast was beyond wonderful - everything was homemade, fresh and delicious.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
