We stumbled upon this hotel in this site whilst we were hotel hunting for our stay in Rome. It's almost always fully booked and we got in due to a cancellation. The rooms are old fashioned but it has character. It is comfortable, clean and served by excellent staff. Rome as a city is best experienced if you walk around... More

Fab location within walking distance of everywhere. Decor a little tired but quaint. Helpful staff. Rock hard bed but extremely comfortable! Breakfast very basic, a bread bun and croissant, fresh juice and coffee. Bathroom a little dated but good shower and plenty of hot water. Only used it as a base to sleep, which is just as well as no... More

Easy to find and near the termini . Good location as in the centre of Rome. We wondered what we had come to at first as not a conventional hotel No dining room etc but the room was a lovely style and the hostess very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the room was nice but prefer to eat at a... More

The Wlcome House is easy to find, very close to Termini station. The street Via Nazionale is very live and safe even during night. Our room was clean and beautifull. Brakfast was delicious. We can live our bags in Welcome House after chek out and enjoy the for Rome couple hours more. The stuff was kind and helpfull.

Best location to visit Rome and do sightseeing on foot. Most of "must see" locations are available within a 30 minutes walk. Nice breakfast with fresh cornetto and rolls waiting just outside the room - great! Rooms could be refurbished, but I will not complain concerning the price and location. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Welcome House during the week of New Year's. The location is great - very close to the train and all major sites (15 minutes to Colosseum, Spanish Steps). It is also close to many stores and restaurants. The rooms are super charming and have more than enough space. The bathroom was huge. The breakfast is perfect and... More

We loved our stay at Welcome House. The rooms were spacious and while the decor was old fashioned, everything was really well made and we felt great there. The location is super convenient- within walking distance from most of the important sites. The rooms were very well cleaned every day (props to the cleaner!). The receptionist was really nice and... This was my 3rd time staying at Welcome House. My last visit was 4 years ago. I am not sure if it was the specific room we stayed in this time or if the quality has dropped, but the room was not as nice as my previous stays. The shower drain was VERY slow and you had to be careful... More

We stayed for 5 nights in September there, enjoyed accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff, reasonable breakfast, cozy room. Walking distance from the train station and metro. A safe neighbourhood in the evening. Convenient location.Reasonable price. Will recommend it.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
