We had 6 nights here and nothing to complain about. Great value for money and they clean every day and we got fresh towels every day too. The room is a bit small but for that price in an European City it's okay. The only thing is that if you want breakfast before 8am you only get dry cakes. Of... More

Good location. Comfortable bed. Typical continental breakfast. This hotel is hidden inside another hotel. There is no sign indicating "Welcome House". We were not "welcomed", in fact we were reprimanded for being late even though we came directly to the hotel and were not delayed at all. The bathroom had lots of mold. The noise of the paper bag with... More

Dear Mrs. Victoria, We are so surprised to read you have been reprimanded because you arrived late! We asked the lady who has received you and she told us that she asked about your delay since your arrival time at the airport was h 12:20 and usually it takes about 2 hours to get at the hotel and you are... The staff were very friendly and helped us to feel very welcome. Breakfast was as advertised (ie continental), room fairly quiet due to soundproofing on the window. Location is excellent with Repubblica Metro two minutes walk, but most of Rome is near enough to walk to. Excellent value for money.

The service is zilch for the price one pays..if being closer to the main train station Termini is considered to be a good location, then so be it but that is pretty much it...the receptionists are hardly available at their desk and the breakfast is actually an insult to what we have always known as breakfast- insufficient and extremely poor!... Welcome house is excellent for the price. We had a room overlooking the inner courtyard which was really quiet, it was not modern but everything was very clean and functional. Beds very comfortable and a large bathroom with shower over bath. Breakfast was delivered before 8 every morning (placed in a basket outside door) and consisted of 2 croisants and... More

The hotel is located within an old style apartment, within a larger building that also has other hotels within it. The staff are very friendly and helpful, be careful to let them know your arrival time in advance as it does not have a permanent reception desk. The rooms are simple but charming with vintage furniture, but good new beds.... More

Welcome house was within walking distance from the central station and walking distance to all the sites in Rome. Room was basic but suited all our needs. Not many places to eat dinner nearby. Hostess was very sweet and accommodating. Rooms were a bit loud with noise from within the hotel but quiet from the street noise. I would stay... More

Thank you very much for your great review. We regret for the inconvenience of the noise inside, certainly due for to neighbors or people passing along the corridor. Sometimes it can happen that people do not think that there are others who are sleeping. Waiting to meet you again in the future. Kind regards. Mrs. Marisa More

Welcome House is ideally located for every tourist attraction in Rome. I have stayed previously and was so pleased that I stayed 10 nights again this time. Staff are super-helpful and friendly, and the rooms are kept spic & span. Best of all in a big city like Rome, Welcome House is a safe, quiet, clean and comfortable haven to... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
