You cannot beat the location of this hotel as it is right on the heart of the old city centre, with Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon and ancient ruins all within walking distance. The hotel itself is in a quiet narrow road just off the main street and has a number of restaurants close by. In spite of the hotel being... More

This hotel is in a great location, to see all the main sights and if you walk out and turn right there is a lovely little square with some hidden gem tavernas! The only down side was the bed which was two large singles pushed together with a very uncomfortable ridge in the middle; however overall I would recommend staying... More

Just 100 m east of the central Piazza Venezia says everything about the location. It is therefore close to everything and even offering the mayor bus connections which have a stop on the Piazza Venezia ( also express bus 40 to the main railway station called Termini) The nearby and very small road Via dei polacchi is quiet though. From... More

This is a hidden gem. It's seven minutes' walk from the Pantheon (we timed it) and not much more than ten from the Colosseum. You can visit all the main attractions without going near public transport or a taxi. We only had breakfast, which was fine, the usual European buffet with fruit, yoghurt, bacon, eggs, serial and croissants. Our room... More

Location, location, location!! Literally a 10 minute walk from the major sites and shopping district. I went with my now fiancee and the hotel was perfect. We only had 4 days in Rome so wanted to fit everything in and this hotel was perfect for that. The reception staff were brilliant. So unbelievably helpful with everything especially telling us where... More

We've stayed at the Hosianum a couple of times now; returning this time in September with our adult family and partners. Whilst we've stayed at other hotels in Rome, we've returned to this hotel primarily because of its location and the extremely helpful people who work here. Organising accommodation from Australia can be problematic; however Lorenzo, Joanna and Alessandro organised... More

After a lot of research we choose the Hosianum Palace because of great reviews and were happy to find they were all true. The location was great for walking to just about everything - we did take taxi to the train station because we had a very early train. The breakfast was the best we've had in Italy in many... More

Location is best feature of this hotel. We asked to change our room - it was a bit dated and suffered from a bit of street noise. We were given a room on a higher floor with a rear facing view. The room itself was much better and as a consequence I would probably rate it slightly above average and... More

Long weekend in Rome and with so many hotels to choose from, without paying a fortune, it can be a bit of a lottery. Hosianum is well located and is in easy walking distance of the main attractions. Also the Ghetto where some of the best food in Rome is served is only a short walk as is Trastevere where... More

Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighborhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighborhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighborhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
