We stayed there 4 nights. It is close to the Termini station which is good , but quite far to walk to the centre. The breakfast was was very basic and the breakfast lady there wasn't friendly enough. The room was ok to sleep only. I will never forget some finger prints on the wall and the mud on the... More

Took a school trip to Rome and really enjoyed my trip to this hotel. For where it is in the middle of Rome it met all expectations. Rooms are a bit small but you'll spend most of your time sight seeing anyway. They are very clean and functional and breakfasts are fab.

Hotel lux really isn't the best, really. It is in an ok location, fairly close to the train station but it is quite far away from many of the main attractions in Rome. Breakfast was very basic and not that great and the staff were not the friendliest at the best of times. There was no WiFi at all which... More

There was a blackout on the 31st of December, nothing was working, neither water nor electricity. They said it was not their fault but they just did not care helping us, they just sent us to another hotel, Noto, in the middle of the night. They also refused to provide any assistence nor refund. We felt insulted, they behaved very... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, over new year's. Everything was ok, the room was clean, bathroom too. After reading the rewiews on trip advisor we were a bit terrified and expected the worst from this hotel but were pleasantly surprised with it. It' s location is perfect, near train, bus and metro station, with nice staff and... More

We stayed in a triple room which comprised of a double and camp bed. Bathroom was bit tatty but plenty if hot water. Room was ok although you couldn't put anything on the floor as it was filthy but bedding was clean and fresh. Breakfast was ok.. Plenty of selection if you was the first in, so would advise as... This hotel was ideal for what we required. It was spotless, our rooms ample for what we required. The staff were extremely helpful and very honest. One of the students left her phone and e book and both were brought down to the foyer within 10 minutes by the friendly chambermaid. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety considering... I was on a recent school trip in February 2013 to Rome and read the reviews of this hotel and was really worried. Pupils also read them and were very anxious as were their parents I have no doubt. This hotel was completely fine. It was central and quite close to Termini station, the rooms were not cramped even with... More

I stayed here in the end of September/beginning of October 2012. This hotel is nothing fancy, but it was clean, the staff was friendly and my bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and included assorted pastries, meat and cheese, fruit, juices and coffee. The staff at the front desk was friendly, but as I was with a group and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
