A characterful mini hotel based on the 5th floor of a traditional Roman terrace literally 2 minutes from the train, metro and bus stations. Compact but clean and comfortable with a charming and friendly lady proprietor who makes your breakfast and serves it on the tiny balcony. A quiet street near to shops and with a brilliant cafe/bar/pizzeria (Andreas) 2... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Dell Urbe for four nights after a Mediterranean Cruise. We took the train from Cittivechia to Termini, the main train, bus and metro station. The hotel is only two short blocks from Termini which will take you anywhere in Rome in minutes. The hotel is on the fifth floor of a bldg with... More

I stayed at Hotel Dell’Urbe for 3 days during the New Year’s Eve period and all the accommodations there were very nice. More exactly, all the electronic devices in the room worked appropriately, the room was very nice and clean and each day the hotel staff came and cleaned the room, free wi-fi connection in the rooms. In relation to... More

We arrived late (9 pm) and were welcomed by the lady owner - a typical "mum" lady! Very warm and nice. Room ok - clean and bed ok. Shower was the smallest I ever experienced!! Breakkie - ok. Communication difficult in English and wth an alarm going late evening difficult to call owner. However the location and place made it... More

we stayed couple of nights. Nice breakfast served to the room at the time of your choice. Located 3 min walk from Termini. No need to use public transport - city is easy within reach. Close to multiple restaurants. Rooms clean and comfortable.

Hotel Dell'Urbe is a superb place to stay on a map of Rome. It is located close to Termini which is a great asset. The owner of the delightful and very helpful. Rooms big, well furnished, clean. Large bathroom with shower, clean. Breakfast delivered to your room, basic but very tasty. Perfect place during the visit to the eternal city.... More

I stayed at this hotel in November and it was very reasonably priced. We stayed 3 nights and got breakfast each morning at the time of our choice. The location of the hotel is perfect, only a 2 minute stroll from Termini, the main train and Metro station, which means the entire city is easily within reach. The people who... More

We stayed at this hotel at the end of May 2013. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner, a friendly older man. His knowledge of the English language is not that great but in a funny way understandable. Checking in went smooth and he showed us to our room explaining everything. We also had to let him know... This is an older style hotel in the historic district and just a couple of hundred metres from Roma Termini. It has been recently renovated and was spotlessly clean. It is not a 5 star hotel and certainly does not advertise as such but for a clean, modest reasonably spacious room in the centre of Rome it is difficult to... More

This hotel is 5 steeps from Termini, so it means that it is really close to the historical part of Rome. We visited all the attractions on foot. U can find a clean water just at the gates of the hotel, so u can full ur bottles and save about 10 euro per day ) The room (38) was clean... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
