This is a very small hotel or B&B very close to Termini station. Location is good being a 5 min walk from the station it was easy to reach although the area was a little dodgy. Staff were nice though very little English. Air con is 5 euro extra per night and is definitely needed as room was very warm... More

My fiance and I stayed here for 4 nights recently. The hotel was very easy for us to find from Termini, arriving after dark. It is a basic hotel and room but had all we needed and it suited us fine. I believe it is also (or used to be) an apartment building and I felt it had a lot... More

Ok its handy to find when arriving in late from the airport / shuttle bus. Looks clean enough. Bathroom has a sewer smell about it! Theres scaffold around the side of the building , so the owner told is to keep window closed! Well air con has stopped , the remote will not turn it back on, it hot and... More

I and my mum stayed at Hotel dell Urbe for 6 days in the end of April. The location of the hotel is great – a 2 minites walk to Termini station. The owners are very kind and friendly. The room was clean. It was cleaned every day. There’s free wifi at the rooms but the signal was weak. Also... More

A characterful mini hotel based on the 5th floor of a traditional Roman terrace literally 2 minutes from the train, metro and bus stations. Compact but clean and comfortable with a charming and friendly lady proprietor who makes your breakfast and serves it on the tiny balcony. A quiet street near to shops and with a brilliant cafe/bar/pizzeria (Andreas) 2... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Dell Urbe for four nights after a Mediterranean Cruise. We took the train from Cittivechia to Termini, the main train, bus and metro station. The hotel is only two short blocks from Termini which will take you anywhere in Rome in minutes. The hotel is on the fifth floor of a bldg with... More

I stayed at Hotel Dell’Urbe for 3 days during the New Year’s Eve period and all the accommodations there were very nice. More exactly, all the electronic devices in the room worked appropriately, the room was very nice and clean and each day the hotel staff came and cleaned the room, free wi-fi connection in the rooms. In relation to... More

We arrived late (9 pm) and were welcomed by the lady owner - a typical "mum" lady! Very warm and nice. Room ok - clean and bed ok. Shower was the smallest I ever experienced!! Breakkie - ok. Communication difficult in English and wth an alarm going late evening difficult to call owner. However the location and place made it... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
