When I read the other reviews of the Hotel Cecil on this site, I wonder whether the people who wrote them went to the same hotel. I found the place to be really pretty repulsive. In fact, about the only good things I could say about it are that the location is fantastic (just a couple of minutes by foot... more

This hotel is in a great location being half way between the Spanish Steps and the famous fountain. Apart from that it was a major letdown. It was the most expensive hotel we stayed in on our Europe trip. The rooms looked like that had last been refurbed in the 70's. They would only turn the air conditioning on in... more

We stayed four nights, and really enjoyed feeling 'part of Rome'. The chance to live like local was great fun. Only complaint is that there should be more than one towel each offerred for four nights, and the quality of kitchen utensils was rubbish(the forks bent when trying to eat with them). Simple is OK, but the quality was junk.... more

Great location only a couple minutes walk from the Spanish Steps and a couple minutes from the Trevi Fountain as well. The Pantheon is also just a few minutes walk past the fountain. All have great eating areas. If you are looking for value - then the Daisy Apartment might be a good bet. You check in through the Hotel... more

We stayed for a family holiday at the Hotel Cecil for the week of 13th.-20th. August, 2009. The hotel was centrally located, literally only a few minutes walk from the Spanish Steps. The location of the hotel meant we could reach all key sights by foot. Great views from the rooftop garden. On arrival at the hotel we were warmly... more

It was the second time I stayed at hotel Cecil and also this year I have no complaints. The hotel was lovely. Our room was big enough for three people and I think they 'renovated' the bathroom because it was very modern and nice. The service in the hotel was great. The people were friendly, they asked how your day... more

The front desk was excellent. They gave out maps of Rome which helped when getting around. The lobby was very bright and welcoming and nice to relax with a bar. There is an elevator which was helpful. The airconditioning was strong and cold, which was great because it was so hot out. The windows were sound proof, so we got... more

After staying for 3 nights at the Hotel Cecil in Rome, Italy, we could not wait to check out! The lobby area was clean and friendly. The rooms, however, we horrible! They had padded walls that were dark and worn, almost moldey. The bathroom had tiles falling off of the shower walls, the backsplash on the sink counter was coming... more

You have 2 supermarkets 5 min walk from the apartments, spar open till late and on a sunday. turn left out of door, turn right at bottom of road, walk approx 200 yards and you wll... more

Nice comfortable hotel within walking distance of all cultural highlights. We booked a superior room and were located in a quiet (doubled windows, so no street noice at all) and spacy room. As we booked for 4 nights, we had a 10% reduction for 'long stay'. Breakfast was above what we expected for Italy (they don't have a breakfast culture)... more
