Hotel Aventino was the favorite of our whole trip! Such a tranquil setting in a lovely, tree lined street and yet surprisingly close to many of Rome's sights, such as the Colosseum. The staff were helpful and very friendly and often offered us coffee or a cold drink when arriving or after a day of sightseeing. I loved the beautiful... More

A quiet relaxing oasis in Rome. With a pleasant garden setting on the quiet Aventino hill this small hotel is in a convenient location with just a short walk to major attractions such as the Roman Forum and Colosseum. Rooms are small but comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful.

Located on the beautiful, elegant and quiet Aventine Hill and a short walk from the forum, the Aventine Hotel offers a quiet respite in a lovely garden from the hectic activity of the city. Great service and nice rooms with large windows for fresh air. Close to the peek a boo view of St Peters at the Knights of Malta.

Stayed here for a week while attending a workshop with the UN FAO. What a delightful small hotel. The included breakfast was a good mixture of pastries, fruit, meats and cheeses, cereals and breads. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Although it was a tad difficult for the staff to find me an iron, they persisted till they found one! The... More

This hotel is in a nice quiet neighborhood (though a bit of a maze) .. convenient to most things- especially the Palantine Hill area, ruins area. It is a very nice quaint hotel, with very nice accommodating staff and reasonable breakfast - nice fresh fruit, good cappuccino, nice cheese .. crostini/croissants were all a bit sweet for my taste. I... More

My wife and I recently travelled to Rome where we stayed at the Hotel Aventino. The hotel is in an incredibly peaceful (yes, idyllic even!) and beautiful neighborhood (the Aventine Hill) of Rome, is in very close proximity (a matter of blocks) to some of the less visited tourist sites, like the local orange grove that provides a sweeping view... Smart choice and great value for money especially if you travel by car. Very close to colosseum, free parking inside the hotel which makes it very convenient for stay in Rome. General services are good. The only disappointment is breakfast. The choice is very basic, however this is typical across the Italy. However even the morning coffee was not very... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
