This hotel is really nice and has some historic charm. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed breakfast on the patio every morning. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood on a hill with lots of nice homes and is close to a park overlooking all of Rome.It was a great...

Hotel Aventino is located in the Aventino neighborhood of Rome, which is a very quiet residential area with large houses and villas. However, it is too far away to walk to or from any of the main touristic attractions of Rome. We timed it and it takes 16' on foot to get from the Circo Massimo metro station. There are...

Great neighborhood. Small rooms but nice and the convenient without being in the crazy tourist places.
I stayed in the Hotel Aventino with my teenage daughter for two nights. It is a charming hotel in an old villa in the Aventine Hill. If you want peace and quiet, yet be close to the main tourist attractions (~10-15 minute walk to the Colloseum, Platine Hill and the Forum; 5 minutes to a beautiful little park with a...

We found this a delightful hotel to come back to after a day sightseeing and invariable took a walk into the Testaccio area for dinner each evening rather than returning to the center by taxi. The Metro stops at 9pm.
Our standard room was well furnished but small and as one of the windows wouldn’t close properly the air conditioning...

This hotel is terrific! I arrived earlier than expected and they checked me in early without hesitation. The room was nice, and staying on the first floor I had a door with a private outside alcove, but no view of anything but the driveway. The bathroom is modern, although slightly awkward to enter/exit the shower (and the floor is a...

This is officially a *** hotel, but is better than many ****. Situated on the tranquil Aventine hill you are guaranteed a quiet night. Traffic here is virtually zero, and sleeping with the window open is no problem. Breakfast is not over-done, but moderate, good coffee, freshly baked white bread rolls, fruit, yoghurt, etc. From here you are perfectly located...

We spent our wedding anniversary week in this lovely peaceful hotel. All the staff were friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was nicely furnished, with a good bathroom. We love visiting cities but always try to stay some way out from the hustle of the tourists and choosing Easter week to visit Rome meant that this...

We were very pleased with Aventino. The location is perfect: quiet, green, short walk to metro Circus Massimo, bus/tram stop (bus 3 from vialle Aventino takes you directly to the Coloseum 3 stops). Going in the other direction, look for Clivo di Rocca Savella, a cool quiet pedestrian alley that will lead you down from Santa Sabina to the river...
