I arrived at Hotel Urbis in the evening, and was looking forward to plan my trip using the wifi in the privacy of my room. The hotel had been recommended by the italian business partner. But the Wifi was only working at the reception (also there very slowly) and not in the rooms, as announced on their homepage. I got... More

Hotel Urbis do not respect reservations confirmed by themselves. When we arrived at 21.00 (9PM) as confirmed the room was given away and hotel was full. Luckily, we thought, we were redirected to another hotel Casa per Ferie "just around the corner" at Via Marzala 42. NO hotel there, and for sure none called Casa per Ferie. They LIED! Way... More

We were using the hotel just to sleep mainly, so it served its purpose and was reasonably priced. The shower was cold which was the biggest downfall. Rooms were nothing special (small, dingy, with 4 beds sandwiched together). But, the staff was friendly. We were traveling as 4 early twenty girls and had no real complaints overall. The location was... More

We choose this hotel because of the location. But there are many hotels near Rome Termini Train Station, you would be glad that you do not stay at Hotel Urbis. TV does not work, and the receptionist acted like it would and tried to play with the switch a while. He said will find out if switch us to different... More

We arrived at the building the accomodation is in at 18.45 in the evening, a head of a 4 day sightseeing trip to Rome, a birthday treat for my Partner Urbis is on the second floor of a large building. There was a street vendor selling handbags on the doorstep, and a tramp asleep in the door way to the... More

This is hardly a hotel in the first place, not even a hostel. We had found out on arrival that we had to share bathroom with everyone on the floor, not only there was no hot or even warm water for the whole stay, the bathroom was dirty, rubish left in there for days, sink was leaking on the floor... I chose this hotel because of its cheapness and managed to get the room even cheaper by having a shared bathroom which suited me fine as our room was a lot bigger! The hotel was very basic which was just what we wanted because there is soo much to do in Rome.

The hotel is nothing speciel. No really service and the rooms are so,so. They do have free wi-fi and if you pick a room towards the back it is quite noce and quite. Somewhat run down and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. It is no more than a two star hotel but with staff's helpfullness adds a small... More

If you're on a budget, this is the perfect place. Just next to the central station (Roma Termini), you can easily get to everything in Rome. We had a great experience at the Urbis!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
