The rooms were small but sufficient and considering the age of the buildings in rome it is understandable. Gianni and Diego at the front desk were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Position wise you can't get better, it's a downhill walk from the central train station so even though it's nearly 2 km it's an easy walk. It is also... More

All staff were friendly. Rooms were reasonable. Good location near colosseum. We walked to most of the sights from the hotel including the Vatican which we walked along the river. Avoid restaurant across the road on the corner called bistro318 .

Like many have said the location is superb, right around the corner from the Colosseum. Can walk from Roma Termini station in about 15 mins and is near enough straight down from it. Taxi driver wanted 25$, glad we walked. Room was good, we got one facing main road which I would recommend. Had no problem sleeping after a long... More

We stayed at the Hotel Solis from 27th Oct to 31st Oct 2014 for a family city break. The staff are very helpful and friendly and a couple of e-mails I sent before traveling were answered promptly. The breakfast was good, typical continental with meats, cheese, pastries and coffee. The hotel is in a great location just around the corner... More

There was hair on the bathroom floor when we got there and it was still there 4 days later. The hotel staff was unhelpful and would not even look up when we came into the lobby. The only redeeming thing was the location and the lady who did the breakfast. She was sweet, warm and efficient. I would never recommend... More

Really friendly staff, very helpful. The Hotel is in a great location for all the sights. 5 minute walk to the Coliseum. Bedrooms nice. Breakfast just continental, however, loads of restaurants and bars about. I really would recommend this Hotel.

Hotel Solis is a gem tucked away in a street right in the middle of Rome. Walk to the end of the street and the sights begin. The Colosseum is right there in all its glory. Hotel Solis is a prime location; located near restaurants, grocery stores, the post office, sightseeing and bus stops. We stayed for seven nights. No need to bring your computer, as there is a... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
