My family and I stayed here and woke up next to black bed bugs that were all over our pillows and bed sheets. We immediately moved out of the hotel despite paying for 3 nights. The management didn't care about what we indicated to them. We were extremely private about what we encountered and showed photos and videos to the... More

we stayed here end of June beginning of July for 3 days, was a nice hotel only 10 minute walk from the train station if you don't get lost lol, our room was average, clean, we had problems with the wifi couldn't really get it to work for the most part, the staff is nice enough, good hotel if your... We book for 3 nights at this hotel and it was the worst we stayed in. There were bugs on the beds which was delving into you while you are asleep. I think the bugs were more happy than the people who stayed there. There bathroom seems to be in the middle of a short renovation with holes everywhere.when we... More

Nobody expects luxury for this price. Location is good, so the offer seems atractive. But in the morning, if you proof the staff, that there are bedbugs, they will change the room. But if you want negotiate prices according to that incident (additional costs connected to medicines and bagagge cleaning) they will tell you, that they can not do anything... More

The room is big but toilet and bathroom is very tiny, you have to pay for the air cond. tv didnt work, poor breakfast. Good thing the location is very close to termini station, easy access to food stalls and restaurants. Free wifi but not that good connection

Very old building, never been renovated, hotel maintenance unexisting, breakfast was like mercy to the poor, just a slice of bread and a cup of tasteless coffee and the worst of all? fleas in the room 118. We had bites in our legs and hands and we thought it was of the mosquitoes, but the last day of our stay... More

We have just returned from 3 nights from staying here and had to comment after reading previous reviews. After reading reviews we were slightly worried and considered changing hotels but I'm glad we didn't. It is in a very good location 3 mins from Termini and about a 10 min walk from Colosseum, Trevi Fountain etc. It had lovely restaurants... More

Do not stay here. My boyfriend and I booked Altavilla to stay for a beautiful city break and were appalled at the service we received here. The room was even worse, we opened the hotel room door to be greeted by a ridiculously strong smell of what I can only describe as, a filthy mop & bleach. The room had... More

The Hotel is very close to Rome Termini and it is almost close to all the main attractions of this ancient city. Rooms of this hotel mostly are on the 1st floor, sop no climbing old wooden stairs and anyways they have a big enough elevator. In all one gets what you pay for. The best thing about the hotel... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
