This place is super convenient to walk to places like the Roman Forum and Coliseum. We liked our room and big bathroom - and especially the many electrical outlets that the rest of the hotels seem to lack. Although it is a bed and breakfast they don't give you breakfast at the B&B, you get a voucher for a restaurant... More

My husband and I spent one week at Nicolas Inn. I was initially cautious about the room because it overlooked a busy street but the thick windows blocked out the noise. We slept very well. Loretto was a doll. He showed us around the neighborhood, gave us tips and held on to our luggage after we checked out. Thank you... More

We just returned from a 4-night stay at the delightful Nicolas Inn. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The strong wi-fi was a major bonus. It was the perfect combination of friendly service from Francois & Loreto and the perfect location - right around the corner from the grand ol' Colosseum!

I’m obviously in the minority with my rating, so I will explain, starting with the pros Location is excellent. Easy walking distance to the Colosseum and Forum. The metro stop is also just down the street, so getting around Rome is very easy. The room is good. Bed was decent, room was a good size, and Loreto kept it clean... More

The only place I'd stay in Rome is the Nicolas Inn. While it's not fancy, it's clean, has everything you need, is in a great location, and best of all, run by nice people. To explain what I mean, it's a half-block from the Roman Forum and about a block from the Colosseum. There are many restaurants on the street,... More

Perfect place to stay when in Rome. Loretto was fabulous! Probably the best person we have dealt with abroad in our recent travels. He went out of his way to wait for a bag I left in Venice in his office for 2 days so he could receive it from the courier. The room was excellent, comfortable bed and when... More

Just spent an amazing week in Rome. We stayed at this small second floor Inn in the Monti neighborhood, close to everything. The breakfast part of the B and B is actually down the street at a local cafe and perfect for giving us the feeling of really being a traveler not a tourist. We chose to have the typical... More

The four days we spent in Rome would not have been nearly as enjoyable if we hadn't had the expertise and willingness that Francoise showed for recommending the wonderful places to visit and eat---and all that in addition to having a cozy and warm B&B. Really, it was almost like coming home every night to our own home. We arrived... More

Sweet B & B down the street from the Colossium. The owners were warm, gracious and very helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions. When we travel back to Rome, we would definitely stay here again.

Francisco the owner welcomed my husband and I at the door of the Inn. This was our first time ever to Rome and abroad from the U.S. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. I was very impressed by Francisco's welcoming greeting and his vast amounts of helpful information/tips regarding places to eat in area very close to the hotel.... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
