This was our first visit to Rome. We spent two nights post transatlantic cruise at this hidden gem. The room was comfortable and very clean. The location excellent for touring - around the corner from the Colosseum. Still, the favorite aspect of our stay was our charming hostess, Melissa. She was lovely, accomodating and offered up excellent suggestions for dinner.... More

From our spacious and comfortable room, we could look out onto Via Cavour, a slice of Rome conveniently located near the Forum, the Coliseum, and Palatine Hill. Melissa and Francois were extremely helpful even before we got there, helping with logistics (like returning after a night tour of the Vatican) and recommending a great tour group – Through Eternity. They... More

Nicolas Inn is a cozy little home in the center of ancient Rome. Melissa and Francois are excellent, attentive, responsive hosts. The rooms are fairly sized, for a good price, and in a location that you can't beat. Added benefits were that a nice breakfast was included in the rate, and Melissa left out fresh chocolate cake every night for... More

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment (opposite Nicolas Inn) with a king size bed for 3 nights in September 2011 for part of our honeymoon trip to Rome. Before we arrived, Francois and Melissa had sent us detailed email information about the apartment and also clear instructions as to how to find them when we arrived at the train... More

A wonderful location and delightful hosts - Melissa and Francois. Room was terrific and comfortable. Melissa was incredibly helpful - restaurant recommendations and reservations. The location was ideal for exploring Rome. 3 blocks from the Coliseum. 2 blocks from the Forum. On a main street easy to get to from the Termini. Can't say enough good about this wonderful place! We felt like we had our own flat in Rome. Easy walk from train station on a pleasant street. Coliseum was even closer! Room was spacious, clean with comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Melissa is an instant friend and made sure we had restaurant tips, maps, etc. She helped with gallery and train reservations. Don't expect a hotel; it has... More

Nicolas Inn was great place to stay in Rome. The location was perfect and we could visit all important places only by walking. Also railway station is only 15 min walk from Nicolas Inn. Besides very good and clean room we got lot of help from Melissa and Francois. All advises how to avoid queues to tourist places were very... More

This was our first trip to Rome, and we picked the Nicolas Inn based on the positive reviews in Rick Steves and on Trip Advisor. We couldn't have been more pleased! Our room was very spacious in a great location (5 minute walk from the Colosseum) -- in fact, we walked everywhere and never had need for taking the subway... More
