Like all the reviews have mentioned: the location is great. Although the area around the train station has a reputation of being seedy, this is on a nice, safe street with a very short walk to the station. My room was VERY small, but that is typical; if you can't take small rooms, European travel i not for you! The... More

We stayed here for two nights and was delighted with the distance to the train station - an easy walk even with luggage - and easy walking distance to Trevi, the Forum, the Pantheon. The building had good security and the breakfast was delicious. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. I will definately stay here again!

We stayed here just for 1 night in order to go to Ischia Island next day. So we chose this hotel because of convenient location. We arrived in the evening to the Airport then took TAM bus to Termini station and we need to walk just 3-5 minutes to our hotel. We just spent some additional time to find this... More

hotel is very easy to locate, a minute walk from termini, very convenient. shops and restaurants all around! train, bus, tram all within a minute walk from the hotel. the breakfast was excellent, bread, ham, cheese, all sorts of pastries, yogurt and fruit. staff were so friendly, with the addition of meme the french bulldog in the reception area who... I am currently writing this review while in the hotel if that shows how much we disliked it. The beds are awful, my husband didn't sleep last night and we're thinking of finding a different hotel even though this one is already paid for. Seriously these are the most uncomfortable beds we've ever slept on. The wifi is horrible and... More

A good hotel for the money. Location near terminus station and walking distance from several points of interest of Rome. The rooms are small but can be a good deal because sleeping in Rome is expensive. The breakfast is not very diverse but if you don't want a continental breakfast this can be a option

Excellent hotel with great location, two blocks from the train station and hop on hop off buses. Very clean, good breakfast, nice small room with windows to the street, nice bathroom as well. The staff very nice, but we need to mention one in particular, his name is Marcos, a real gentleman, with excellent manners, always smiling and helping in... More

Room was quite big, so was the bathroom. Both quite clean and comfy. But at the entrance there's a strong smell of cat urine, then in the room there's smell from sewers... Hotel is located neat the Termini train station, which is good but neghbourhood is not the best one. There's a free wifi, but it logs you out quite... More

My wife and I stayed here over New Years. The breakfast was good but the eating area was constrained. I thought the rooms were in good condition and they cleaned them well. My wife was sick for 24 hours and they were very accommodating.

Our travel agent recommended Hotel Serena, and I'm so glad she did. The price was definitely right, and the rooms were clean and fully adequate for our needs. We left too early to try the breakfast, but the manager went out of his way to make sure we made our crack-of-dawn cab to the airport, and was accommodating in every... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
