Just about to check out and felt compelled to leave a review for this hotel. We visited for 4 nights to allow us to see the fabulous sights Rome has to offer. The Serena is a great hotel located close to the Termini station which offers easy access to everything although we chose to walk everywhere so we could stumble... More

I stayed at the Hotel Serena for 4 nights with my granddaughter. The price was right. (on a budget) Very close to the Roma Termini.(We arrived by train) Our room and bathroom were always clean and the one bed room was perfect for us. Breakfast was OK. The best was Marco at the front desk, always a big smile and... More

Location was perfect! Very close to Roma Termini. Staff was nice. Stayed there for 3 nights, room was always kept clean. We had the room on the 5th floor at the back side of the hotel so it was quiet. Breakfast was decent (cold buffet) but i loved the coffee! :) Internet is a little unreliable. And thats the only... This was our third trip to Rome and choice of hotel was made by agency. We would never trust agencies from now on... Hotel is located close to Termini, walking distance to Maria Maggiore . Location is convenient but spooky at the same time. Too much comotion by hotel , street just filled with hotels and cafes. Room was really... More

This hotel is located a few minutes walk away from Rome's Termini railway station, which makes it ideal for anyone travelling to the city by train. The rooms are small but clean, and for what you pay, the value is excellent - the mini-fridge in particular was an unexpected bonus. The hotel is within walking distance of the Colosseum and... We had booked a double and single room, yes they were small especially the single but its only for sleeping. Our room even had a mini fridge which was handy. The mattresses... More

My husband and I and friends stayed here before and after a Mediterranean Cruise. The room was clean, the breakfast was very good, especially the pound cake and cappuccino. The concierge was very helpful and had a great personality. There were many restaurants nearby and the train station was only 2 blocks away.

Stayed here for 4 nights, single room, which was small - but I was only there to sleep, so didn't notice it much. Had fridge - great for storing water, fruit, which can be bought around the corner in the supermarket,- TV all the usual. Location is great, get 40/64 bus to the Vatican - €1.50 each way. Bathroom was... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
