We booked the "luxury apartment" for our family of 5. It was the equivalent of a dumpy college apartment. My son had to sleep on a mattress on the floor since the pull out sofa bed was so broken. Stuff was literally falling off the ceiling on to the bed in the second bedroom where there were also cleaning supplies... More

We stayed for four nights at the Serpentine penthouse apartment, which is located 10 minutes away from the hotel main reception. It is a classical style apartment which could house all five of us as a family. Living spaces were relatively generous by European standards although the bathrooms were narrow and tiny - to be fair, we were warned about... More

Bad experience from a hotel which chose to chance our selection of apartment without consulting us. Our stay was short and I was unwilling to waste my precious time in Rome moving again. I am unable to recommend this hotel.

First I must say I am surprised at how many negative reviews there are of these apartments! It was quite clear from the website that the apartments were separate to the main hotel. This is fairly common in Europe. If you want to stay in a studio room you stay in a hotel. If, like us, you are a family... More

We stayed at the Marcus Loft in Rome for 3 nights in August, the location was good and we felt very safe in the area. Within walking distance of many key areas, nice coffee shops, a small grocery store and gellato. The loft is in need of some TLC, Trash containers for the street are right outside of the windows... Ok this review is not about the hotel but the apartments. We were put in Marco Aurelie suites which is located about five minutes from the hotel. As we were three, the apartments being the comfortable choice because we absolutely did not want a roll-away taking most of the space in an hotel room. The Marco Aurelie suites are located... More

I took my two teenage sons to Italy for a combination work/vacation. We spent the first nights in Rome and I opted to book one of the private apartments in town instead of staying at the main building. Was a great choice! The apartment was roomy, clean and cozy. We felt like part of the community for the 4 days... More

My husband and two sons recently stayed in the Serpenti Penthouse apartment and could not have been happier. In preparation for the trip we had read many reviews and some quite negative about the apartments offered through Palazzo Manfredi. I would have to disagree with many of those negatives. I guess it comes down to what type of experience you... More

We were extremely happy with Palazzo Manfredi. The staff were very attentive and helpful at all times and as first timers to Rome the location was perfect with the colosseum and Forum on our doorstep. We stayed in the Marco Aurilio Appartment suits a block behind the hotel which although didn't come with room service and was a 5 min... More

After a long 14 hour flight from Seattle we arrive in Rome at 11:30am. We take a cab to our hotel, which is an amazing location and great view of the Colosseum. When we check in we are told our 'apartments' our not ready and to come back in an hour. We come back at 1:30pm and the couple we... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
