this is the place for you. Good location, close to Vatican. American breakfast. Rooms are simple and clean except for cigarette smoke. Bathrooms, no frills but have stand up shower. Typical pilgrimage hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The continental breakfast was the best I have ever seen in Europe. There were many options including pastries, granola, cereals, yogurt, pumpkin seeds, apples, bananas, oranges, kiwis, other healthy options, toasting station, egg boiling station, and more. There was even a station to make your own tart with different fruit flavors.... More

If you value your stomach lining . Then do not stay at this hotel. The worst food I have ever eaten in any hotel anywhere IN THE WORLD !! Stayed here for 4 nights on a pilgrimage tour from UK. To be fair the breakfast was O.K. But the dinner was shocking. Firstly it took 2 and a half hours... More

I was quite disappointed in this place. My bathroom had a terrible smell like an open sewage. The room was clean. Breakfast was ok. Great location since it's near the Vatican. Nice roof view. But Just overall not as expected.

After 125km trek of the via francigena this was a welcome sight. The reception is unusual in that it is a lift down to the bottom floor but once inside it is a lovely horel. Dont forget to explore the roof terrace with its lovely views over the city. Breakfast was probably the best I have ever experienced the selection... More

Stayed here for 4 nights on a pilgrimage. The location is excellent and staff very helpful. Very clean. Excellent breakfasts, and we particularly enjoyed the rooftop terrace. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Would recommend this hotel, and if I return to Rome this would be where I would stay.

I'm a frequent traveller but this is my first review. Stayed from Oct 9-13. Great location, walking distance to the the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo. Lots of restaurants, bus stops nearby. Friendly staff (except for the one on duty when we arrived on the evening of the 9th). The place is generally very clean, the downside is the plenty of... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
