It was at first puzzling to find the hotel entrance. the reception desk is located above the ground floor after you pass large doors and take a nostalgic elevator. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. The breakfast area is a bit small but you can take the food to your room and they serve nice Cappuccino and Coffee at... More

We travelled in a group and had 3 rooms booked at this hotel for two nights. The hotel is hard to find as there is just a small little sign that points down a hallway of a building, you have to use the buzzer to get in then go to the smallest most claustrophobic elevator, which takes you to the... My boyfriend and I travelled to Rome for a long weekend in July. We were finding it hard to find an affordable but decent hotel in a good location until we discovered Hotel Garda. It turned out to be perfect for us and I would highly recommend it; not only was in very reasonable for a weekend in July, it... More

My wife and I stayed there recently. We stayed there because a friend will be staying there later this year so I did not check it out. When you walk in the building, you first see what looks like a bank teller`s small cubicle but nobody home. Then we noticed we had to hit a button to Hotel Garda because... More

We arrived late in the evening by taxi and after an initial confution on how to get in, we found the buzzer on the wall. The hotel is located on the 4th floor, there is an elevator. The receptionist was a bit gruff, but still somewhat helpful. When we had packed out we returned to the desk and found a... More

Wanted to review the restaurant right outside the entrance to the hotel, but could not find it and have now lost the name. Great place. Much cheaper than on the main street half block away.Waiter Emiliano is wonderful--funny! Makes it a great experience.

Stayed with a friend for a few nights. What a pleasant surprise! We can't afford a 5-star hotel, so we don't expect to get a 5-star experience. I'd suggest Garda to my friends. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Beds were comfy enough. Mini bar stocked with normal drinks, and not outrageously priced. Location was really really good.... More

The Garda hotel is located on the 4th floor. Three stars according to Italian standards ? Our room had a view towards a closed in yard. Although we saw the sun looking up over the neighbouring wall. Our friends was not so lucky their window faced an elevator cage In the neighbouring staircase. Well it was OK just for sleeping.... More

Small hotel with about 30 rooms, very clean, at these prices is the best you can have, in the center of Rome, modern style, free internet, Philip explains you all over Rome, everything is perfect. I also recommend you the limousin service for the airport.

This hotel is very adequate for sleeping. My parents stayed at the Sofitel down the street much more luxurious and too expensive. I loved the price and would recommend staying here. It was clean. Not too far from a bus stop.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
