Yes this castle is far from Rome central but it is quiet, surrounded by countryside and trees.(We knew that a cab from Rome would cost 60 Euros each way.) We arrived June 8th after a long flight from the U.S. Since the airline lost my luggage, we arrived frazzled and upset. The staff was helpful, most tried to speak English... more

On the whole we enjoyed out weekend stay at the Castello. I have visited Rome many times on business and have usually stayed in a city centre hotel. As this trip was mainly holiday, I deliberately chose the Castello as I wanted a relaxing break away from the noise and crowds in the centre. The idea of a castle also... more

After seeing the website and reading other traveller reviews my expectations were high for this hotel, and although aesthetically it was as beautiful as advertised, I encountered several small disappointments which lowered my overall opinion of the hotel. On arrival, the staff were very friendly. The room we were allocated was not as grand as those shown on the website,... more

We booked a room at the Castello as part of our honeymoon in the Rome area hoping to have a nice quiet relaxing break and have to say that as far as being a Hotel our experience was far less than what we expected. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated as an inconvenience.... more

Gourmet restaurant closed 2 nights out of three for weddings (mind you there was alternative seating in another room ) Spa area closed Our room was below... more

Upside. The staff were friendly and helpfull. The grounds and castle itself were very nice and the Hotel food was all very posh and upmarket (except the portions were that of a very small child) Downside was the location and the shuttle bus which came only every 2 and half hours at pre arranged times. If you were outside those... more

This review has been a long time coming. We got married at Castelluccia in 2004. We stumbled upon the perfect place to get married outside of Rome. It is a gem of a hotel. The perfect little 5 star castle. I couldn't believe the place when we first saw it. My family is from Rome and I happened to come... more

Don't get put off by the village La Giustiniana or the way up to the hotel. Things do improve as you draw closer. A word of warning is that the hotel's shuttle bus only runs on a fixed schedule every 2 hours. As the hotel is rather isolated a more bespoke service would be valuable. Arriving at the hotel we... more

This may be the best hotel that I have ever stayed in! It is at the top of the 4* category but the price is so reasonable as to make you wonder why! The customer service is outstanding and the castle itself is beautiful. The rooms are all lovely with period features and furnishings and they have the full works... more

Hotel is a real castle a few km outside of Rome (15 minute drive from Centro) that was originally built close to 2000 years ago. It is on countless acres of land and has a huge, elegant pool. It was a welcome, quiet, elegant respite from the chaos and crowds in Rome. Landscaping is top notch with rolling hills surrounding... more
