A spotless, newly renovated apartment with large sun-filled rooms overlooking wonderful Trastevere. A fully equipped communal kitchen, large shared bathroom and a perfect location close to good Roman restaurants and the majority of the major ancient Roman sites. Amy and Emiliano bent over backwards to make my stay in Rome absolutely perfect. I don't think I've ever been looked after... More

We loved our stay. The owner was so amazing about giving tips...He actually almost planned our three days the night we arrived. The room was comfortable, clean and relaxing! You do need share a bathroom, but that worked out fine. The neighborhood was perfect - quiet, authentic and quaint. Highly recommended. I would go back and stay there again.

We fell in love with Rome and your apartment was a wonderful place for our home base. The location is very close to many good restaurants and easy to get around to the major sites in Rome to visit. Would recommend and stay again, great value. Quiet. Loved how when we arrived we were given a map and advice on... More

Nice, clean and friendly stay in the middle of Rome. The host was very helpful. The ap. is easy to reach if u come by pulic transport system from the airport. You can go to all the main signs just by a romantic walk though Trastevere and the Tiber. ----- Good and not so expensive restaurants are next to the... More

We really enjoyed our stay in La Casa di Kaia in Rome. The house is conveniently located in the Trastevere neighborhood. Close to the busy streets and squares but also isolated enough to have a quiet night. Walking distance to the Coliseum area and even the Vatican. Amy was very helpful, she gave us good suggestions and did everything to... More

I enjoyed my one night at La Casa di Kaia. Sylvie was very welcoming and goes the extra step, providing a little brochure of the best local dining, gelato and aperitivo spots, as well as a sheet listing many of the most famous Roman artists. The bed was a bit hard, but the room clean and quiet.

It was a perfect ending to our 20 year anniversary trip to Italy. We loved the location and artistic style of La Casa di Kaia. It was close enough to walk to all of attractions of Rome but far enough to be a quiet oasis when needed. Sylvie provided great suggestions & hospitality. She also point out some history and... Good bye & thank you for everything! Especially 'the tips'. Rome has come to feel like my second home thanks to La Casa Di Kiai. Location is great & I felt safe walking at night on my own. See you next time.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
