We stayed here 4 nights to welcome the new year in Rome. The localization is good: 15 min till the Colosseum. The employees are very friendly and even offer us a bottle of champagne to celebrate the new year. The room is very good: very clean and the bathroom, although being small, have recent furniture. Now the bad things. The... More

We stayed here for five nights. It was quite hard to find and when we eventually got hold of someone at reception she took us to the "annexe" building which was in another street! The hotel room itself was nice enough and perfectly clean. However, one thing I do expect from a hotel is that there should always be hot... More

Just back home from a 7 night stay at Le Terrazze di San Giovanni. We had a truly wonderful stay. The room was fully equipped, super clean and cleaned daily. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is well located near the Colosseum. The continental breakfast was delicious. I have stayed in many good hotels over the years.... More

Stayed here for two nights and ahead of arrival, opted for a taxi service to the hotel from the airport. If it weren't for the taxi driver, I am not sure whether I would have found the hotel as there was nothing to signal where it was. The room is basic. But that is all we wanted as only every... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. It is difficult to find this place since no big boards although it is located at prime location. Very close to metro line. Service is good but you hardly see hotel people once u checked in. There is no reception area as such in the hotel so u cannot reach them if u need... More

I stayed at this accommodation for 3 nights recently. The double room was very comfortable, with a safe, air conditioning, free wifi and a shared balcony. The room was thoroughly cleaned eat day, with free bottle water and biscuits. The accommodation is a short walk from Manzoni and San Giovanni metro stations (no more than 10 minutes from Roma Termini.... More

The B&B is ideally located, though one has to search for it, first floor property is neat and tidy and the common balcony is a a lovely add on. The rooms are big and comfortable with all the amenities. It is close to Manzoni metro station and i took an early morning walk to Colosseum and Roman Forum. So far... More

We stayed here for 3 nights over the May bank holiday. The hotel was set back from the main road and was reasonably quiet for a city! It is only a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and there are several good restaurants across the road. The room was clean and spacious. The only downside was the lack of WiFi... More

We stayed at Le Terrazze di San Giovanni for 7 nights (5-12 April, 2015) in a double room with connecting shared terrace. We were absolutely delighted with the hotel/apartment. The owners could not do enough for us and always responded promptly to our communications. The room was spotless and was cleaned everyday to an impeccable standard, and we received complimentary... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
