What a lovely B&B. A home away from home. Martha and her husband were excellent hosts. The accommodation was excellent, the rooms are fashionably decorated and provided a very peaceful and warm atmosphere. Martha set out a scrumptious breakfast every morning along with the perfect music that created the perfect ambiance for the beautiful romantic city. The B&B is perfectly... More

Six of us stayed in three rooms in September. Arranging for the rooms was outstanding with great service. Arriving to a charming building, we were checked in quickly. The rooms were clean, but small. The staff (usually one person) was pleasant, helpful and the morning breakfast was OK. The six of us are resourceful and really didn't need anything from... More

This is an excellent B&B. It is set in a renovated old traditional building. The rooms were very clean and well modernly decorated with the good Italian taste. We had a room with a view to St. Peter's Basilica, simply fantastic! Very friendly and helpful service! Definitely recommend it!

We spent 2 weeks in Italy during the beginning of October and this was our only bad hotel. The main issue was the complete lack of personnel. If you simply want a room in a good neighborhood then you will be fine. We were checked in by a young lady who greeted us by saying she spoke very little English.... More

I stayed here mid October and had a very pleasant stay. We had an email before arrival to confirm out check in time and one when we left thanking us for staying there. The young girl on reception was very helpful, drew us little maps and wrote out directions. Breakfast was a basic continental but satisfied us enough for to... More

While it is true that place has been sold (I e-mailed Marta for over a year before we finally made it to Rome!) - the hotel is still very charming! Federica greeted us upon our arrival and had a welcoming cup of cappuccino and plate of cookies for us. We loved the elevator - and having three keys (one to... More

My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of October 2014. The B&B is very close to the Vatican, slightly further to some of the main sights in Rome - however, there is a metro station nearby that we used without any difficulty, or a pleasant 20 minute walk, crossing over the Tiber, will take you into the centre.... First the good: terrific location in a quiet non-touristy area. Charming building..classy old apartment. Great inexpensive restaurants nearby. The bad: horrible mattress, cheap bedding and towels(these were 10% of 400 count cotton), NOBODY ever greeted us!! We still don't know who the owners are!! POOR service..we won't be back to this B&B but will definetly stay in the Prati district again.

This B&B is located in the Prati neighborhood, near the Vatican. It is a quiet, residential neighborhood with lots of places to eat and shop. Also, it is walking distance to Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza del Popolo in Rome. Actually, if you like to walk as we do, it is walking distance to everything. Or you can take the nearby subway.... I've never written a review in my life but as we chose Residenza Scipioni in the first place for the amazing reviews (helpful owners, great service, cleansing and good value for money) i decided to do this cause we were actually very disappointed with our experience! we found a nice B&B, well located near the vatican, but nothing more then... Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
