We went on a citytrip to Rome en stayed at Ave Popolo. The people where very nice en the room was clean. The bathroom was new and it was great. When you go outside the subway is there so really easy to get everywhere.

I booked this hostel in October my friend paid on her credit card. On boxing day they charged her £125.85 if you booked and paid for this hostel on your plastic check your statement very carefully! 2 hours before we were due to leave for the airport the hostel emailed to say that due to lack of electricity we would... This place has comfy rooms, good king-sized beds and decent showers. But the best thing about it is its location: just five blocks away from Termini station and a short walking distance from the colossal Colosseo. Nothing remarkable, really, but good enough to have a good night sleep and a place to crash whilst exploring one of the most fascinating... More

We used booking.com to make the booking, there was a number of problems with the booking that caused anguish, the biggest was although I booked two persons, we were only charged for one. Fortunately, there was a double bed available, so they were able to accommodate, otherwise we were in trouble as we arrived only just before midnight. The payment... More

We stayed at Ave Popolo as we needed a central room with parking, air con and internet. We wanted breakfast although ended up not having it there. We didn't want anything more than a place to sleep and wash. Perfect for that. Beds and bathroom were great, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Shower - great! Location - central but a bit... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
