The guest house is a nice place to stay when in Rome. As previous reviews indicate it is close to the metro station in a typical urban Italian neighborhood. It is not a five star hotel and the prices reflect that, but it offers really great value. The service is excellent and the manager is really nice. She provided excellent... More

Not far from the main tourist attractions (for most places it's best to walk) and in a "genuine" area: with corner shops, a small supermarket just underneath and an excellent Italian restaurant on the corner. Not the poshest area of Rome, but full of real life, a small park around just a few steps away and a very interesting daily... More

Nice hotel with traditional Italian breakfast. Clean room. With fridge, kettle, tea and coffee. Fresh towels and bed linen. Good connection to city center. 10 min by walk to Colosseum. Excellent choice for 2-4 nights stay in Rome!

This hotel was located conveniently (10 min walk from termini, 15 min walk from collosseum) and staff was friendly. However, our room was extremely small - my husband and I basically had to hug the wall to get into bed. The shower was tiny (I am 5'2" and barely fit) and didn't drain properly (we had to keep turning the... More

It's good enough for one or two days. The location is good, it took us about 10 mins to walk from Roma Termini, and again 10-15 mins walk to the Colosseum. There are good supermarkets around, which is great for some drinks and snacks. When we got to the guest house, someone received us kindly, but be aware that there... More

Me and my boyfriend went on our holiday to Rome for one week for the first time. Since our flight landed pretty late, we booked a hotel in advance from our home in Scotland. We were pretty scared at first to see the place since we went on a budget holiday and did not expect much from a hotel. To... More

I stayed in Dandi Domus guesthouse for 3 days while I visited Rome and I have to say this accommodation was perfect for me. When you travel on a small budget you can't expect a lot but the location was perfect (1 min to metro station, 5 min to the colosseum, 15 minutes by food to main train station and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
