I'm always a bit wary of 100% reviews on TripAdvisor, particularly where the host is obviously so well-liked. People naturally inflate their ratings if they like the person involved. I'm happy to report that the accommodations at Vecchia Roma are very much of the same calibre as the excellent host, Marco. People here have already extolled its (and his) virtues... More

2 blocks away from Metro station Circus Massimus and 1/2 mile away from Roman Forum and the Colliseum, this B&B is conveniently located into an "embassy" quarter, with small nice restaurants, a fancy "gellato artessanalle" store, a supermarket and a pharmacy. All of that greately contributes to make your stay an affordable and home like one.

I can not add anything to your words! Your accuracy in describing everything that is around the Vecchia Roma Resort was exceptional. I hope I can still hold my place when you decide to go back to Rome! Thank you, mark More

My friend and I stayed at Vecchia Roma Resort for 2 nights and loved it! The room was an excellent size - lots of space to move around and organize our belongings, and the bathroom was a great size too and very clean! Marco was an excellent host and gave us the perfect set of walking routes for us to... More

My partner and I stayed in VRR for 7 days and found it to be one of the best places I have stayed. Some pointers for this place are: - Marco is an excellent host and will give you advice on where to go, places to eat and relevant info. He even managed to retrieve lid for my contact lens... More

Thanks guys, I am happy that the inconvenience of the container for the lens, has not ruined your holiday! Seriously, I am happy that you have been found good. I hope to see again in the future, in "Your home in Rome." Thank you, Marco More

My younger brother and I recently returned from a week-long visit to Rome where we participated in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of St. Stephen’s School, an American high school located just a few blocks away from the Vecchia Roma Resort (VRR). My 53-year-old younger brother, and I, shared a double-bedroom at the VRR. Notwithstanding that... More

Just returned from a 2 week tour of Europe and finished our last 4 days in Rome at Vecchia Roma Resort and so glad we did!! This B&B had been recommended by a friend and it lived upto all expectations. In a beautiful location quiet and surrounded by trees but only a few minutes walk from the metro. Our room... More

Thanks Lucy and Tom, when you recommend a place, generally expectations are always high, but I'm glad to have passed the exam! I am very happy that you enjoyed the park oranges. The next year will look with new and interesting tips. P.S. places near and far ....! More

Two of my friends and I spent four nights at the Vecchia Roma Resort this past January, and I have to say that this was the best B&B that we found in our 3 week trip through Europe. I was a little skeptical about all of the good reviews at first, but now having stayed here, I can see why... More

This is a great place to stay in Rome. It is a bed and breakfast, not a luxury hotel, and accordingly is charming and very Italian. The host, Marco, is a mine of information and knowledge about Rome, and nothing is too much trouble. He advises, he helps, he is charming. Our room was great: well appointed and clean, and... More

Quaint and quiet B&B within 5min walk to Metro, Circo Massimo. Marco gave us a great intro and mapped out some walking tour routes in Rome for us as well as a couple good locations for Gelato, pasta, pizza, etc...For the price, I would stay againa dn recommend my friends and family to do the same.

We booked this B&B based on the reviews on TripAdvisor and weren't disappointed. The rooms were clean and quiet with good AC, and the location was convenient to the Circo Massimo metro stop. As everyone noted, Marco is a great host (thanks, Marco!), and we really enjoyed being in a more suburban area and seeing where real locals live. Breakfast... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"Vecchia Roma Resort" is found in the Aventino district. This antique area of Rome is very unique because it is situated in the historic center of the city, while maintaining a relaxed yet evocative atmosphere. Just behind "Vecchia Roma Resort" begins the road, Viale Aventino, which joins both the Cestia Pyramid and the Circus Maximus. We are found in a historic oasis of greenery perched on the antique Roman hill. The characteristic of this district is precisely: to be in the center of the Roman history without suffering from today's chaotic city traffic. Those who have never been to Rome will have the possibility to know the oldest part of the city; with just a five minute walk you can find yourself in front of the Circus Maximus, between the Palatine Hill and the Baths of Caracalla. Those who have already had the good fortune of visiting our city can deepen their knowledge while acquiring a new, fascinating point of view, living for a few days in a district situated on one of the seven hills of Rome. From "Vecchia Roma Resort" Testaccio, the Colosseum, Trastevere, Appia Antica, the Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia are all easily accessible on foot. As well, one can admire the beauty of the Aventino district with its famous Basilicas and the Parco degli Aranci (Park of the Oranges). And don't forget: In only 10 minutes you can reach the Mouth of Truth (Bocca della Verita) and discover its secrets. With its welcoming atmosphere, "Vecchia Roma Resort" is able to satisfy the most diverse needs, from a relaxing vacation to a business or school trip. ... more   less
