I booked this hotel as part of a British Airways package, and read the other reviews with interest. As usual there are some accurate observations, and a few odd criticisms (often by reviewers that clearly have little experience of world travel, or have not done their research) The Demetra is well located in Rome within easy walking distance (about 1000m)... Very close to the train terminal and the metro. It is a hidden gem. Tricky to find but once inside, what a modern and clean b&b. The rooms where small but good size if you are looking for a convenient place, close to the rail, just to sleep and rest. Breakfast was decent. The metro was a 5 min walk.... More

A very friendly hotel - Andra and the rest of the stuff were always very helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome on arrival. We were also given an excellent recommendation for what turned out to be our favourite restaurant of the trip which was only a few steps from the hotel. Rooms were very clean and ample... More

My partner and I stayed at Demetra Hotel for 4 nights at the end of October. The hotel, room and facilities were sparkling clean, very modern and just very nice. When we arrived we had help bringing our luggage to the room- the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room wasn't extremely spacious but was perfect enough... More

The staff here we're obliging and friendly, ready to answer any queries. We arrived early, expecting only to drop off our baggage and wander until check in, but our room was ready and available so we could shower and freshen up after our long flight, before we hit the exploration trail. The location of the hotel was perfect for us!... More

Currently staying at this hotel. The rooms are very modern and clean. The towels are changed daily and the beds made. Was assigned 2 queen beds but on arrival asked for 2 twin bed rooms which was agreed immediately. There is plenty of choice for the self- serve breakfast ranging from fry up to youghurt, different breads, toast, fruit, sweet... More

We stayed there for 3 nights. Walking distance from the Termini station and the Colosseum - its location is perfect for a city break ! The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel & I would highly recommend it to all.

What a wonderful hotel we stayed 5 nights for a birthday holiday in Rome - hotel staff were first class and we even had a champagne breakfast on my birthday - nothing was too much for them. Hotel was very central close to everything. We had three in a room with plenty room for everyone- could have done with another... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
