Small but spotless rooms 2 blocks from the Termini train station (central Rome). Can get express buses to airport (4 Euro fare) or train (12 Euro fare ) from Termini about every 30 minutes. Excellent breakfast buffet and friendly staff. Not many English speaking TV stations on their cable but remember you are in Italy.

Stayed two nights here in January, 2015. It is close to the rail station, however the street is a little "dodgy". Very clean, but oh so tiny room. The breakfast is a buffet with a good choice of food and drinks. Staff are lovely at this hotel.

I was in the hotel with my two young granddaghters for 3 nights. The hotel is very close to Termini, modern and clean. The breakfast was buffet style with a large selection to satisfy grownups and children. The stuff was very helpful and the location was just perfect for us. we walked to all the sites and it was a... What a great little place! Extremely friendly staff who spoke excellent English and never treated us like anything but their favorite clients. They had great hints on where to eat, drink, and visit. Decent breakfast. Newly redone and clean as can be! My only issue was really our room being up several steps as I use a cane and that... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We were a group of 13 people and we needed 4 rooms. From the first day when we asked for a quote until the day we arrived, there was constant help from the reservation desk through emails. The hotel also arranged for us a pick up from the airport for an extra... More

Well located hotel 5 minutes’ walk from the main station. It beside the restaurant pizzeria Washington, go in to the building and take the lift. Very modern clean hotel, nice reception. The room was very nice, just small as no space on the floor to put a suitcase (we had hand luggage so we managed) but there are quiet big... More

I booked this hotel as part of a British Airways package, and read the other reviews with interest. As usual there are some accurate observations, and a few odd criticisms (often by reviewers that clearly have little experience of world travel, or have not done their research) The Demetra is well located in Rome within easy walking distance (about 1000m)... Very close to the train terminal and the metro. It is a hidden gem. Tricky to find but once inside, what a modern and clean b&b. The rooms where small but good size if you are looking for a convenient place, close to the rail, just to sleep and rest. Breakfast was decent. The metro was a 5 min walk.... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
