My husband and I stayed here for a 5 night break in August 2014. We chose this hotel because it had great reviews and it is within walking distance from the train station. When we arrived the staff at reception were very nice but we were informed there was a problem with our room so we stayed in a very... More

This very well run hotel was easy to find and a good base to explore Rome. The front desk staff was attentive and helpful. English was spoken by the staff and we were made to feel comfortable. Our room was extremely small and was difficult for two. The bathroom was very nice and was almost the same size as the... More

I am rating Demetra Hotel a 5 for a few reasons. The first night we arrived there was a mistake with our room but the way the member of staff on dealt with it and the hotel the next day left me happy that they were trying to make sure we were happy. It is in a perfect location around... More

Before getting to the Hotel this was my first visit to Rome and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going. I had a great few days in the beautiful city and would definitely go back. The Location is very central to everything. Walking distance to the Coliseum and also to Vatican City if you feel like a... More

This hotel is in the perfect location for those visiting Rome for the first time. As a first time traveler it was so comforting that the hotel was within walking distance of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, great restaurants, museums and even the metro. The room was pretty small, but my husband and I were out and about all day -... More

Super room layout, but a small size room for 4*,quality breakfast, good location,a bit careless boy at hotel reception. Please note that the receptionist will let you carry the luggage alone( 200m) from the parking to the hotel , then, for about 7m from reception to the room- request a bell boy.Don't forget-the private parking cost is 30 Euro/day for a regular size car,added... Small but spotless rooms 2 blocks from the Termini train station (central Rome). Can get express buses to airport (4 Euro fare) or train (12 Euro fare ) from Termini about every 30 minutes. Excellent breakfast buffet and friendly staff. Not many English speaking TV stations on their cable but remember you are in Italy.

Stayed two nights here in January, 2015. It is close to the rail station, however the street is a little "dodgy". Very clean, but oh so tiny room. The breakfast is a buffet with a good choice of food and drinks. Staff are lovely at this hotel.

I was in the hotel with my two young granddaghters for 3 nights. The hotel is very close to Termini, modern and clean. The breakfast was buffet style with a large selection to satisfy grownups and children. The stuff was very helpful and the location was just perfect for us. we walked to all the sites and it was a... What a great little place! Extremely friendly staff who spoke excellent English and never treated us like anything but their favorite clients. They had great hints on where to eat, drink, and visit. Decent breakfast. Newly redone and clean as can be! My only issue was really our room being up several steps as I use a cane and that... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
