This was our second stay at Fortyseven Hotel. We really like its central location in Rome -- including its proximity to the major sites like the Colosseum as well as the Trastevere neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the air conditioning works great (and it was really tested with the extreme heat we had during our visit... More

This hotel was actually nice and modern, but it was mostly about the location. It was right by the collesium and the roman forum. And it was a short taxi ride to the vatican and the other side of rome. The rooms were very clean, and the hotel staff was friendly. Air conditioning was also key during July. This is... More

I booked this for a family half term break in February '15, via an Expedia package. It's a pretty smart property. We had one double and one twin room. Really modern, spacious and clean. Situated in the centro historico, there's lots within walking distance, though this isn't really the centre of town. The reception staff were really helpful with maps,... More

By the way, we do believe that the Hotel choice depends on personal priorities. We... More

We loved this hotel. It is modern, with up to date mechanicals (except those elevators--seemed one or the other was down most of the week we ere there) and air conditioning. Our room on the fifth floor overlooked the Circus Maximus, the Temple of Hercules and the Temple of Porticus and the church were the Boca de Verita is located.... More

Very helpful staff, nice full breakfast with many choices, nice room, we were upgraded to a suite without even asking. Great location, walking distance to all major sights. Eventhough it is on busy street, room was very quiet due to double windows and shutters.

My only complaint were the a couple of the waitress' in the restaurant were very very rude. We booked bed and breakfast for 4 nights, 1 morning we were unable to eat as there were no tables clean or fresh food.... More

Booked this hotel as part of our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Italy and I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay there. Close proximity to many of the ancient attractions. Hotel very modern, breakfast buffet available although very limited, desk staff friendly and welcoming. Rooftop dining was closed due to a private event so unable to offer an opinion regarding dining.

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
