This is a great hotel. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, really nice upstairs bar with good light fare. Their restaurant is also very good. This hotel is also in a great location, BUT location means different things to different people. For example, this hotel is very close to the "Mouth of Truth", the Colosseum and Roman Forum among other things. It... More

The hotel is in a prime location, just 5 mins walk from the Altare della Patria and 20mins walk from the Colosseum. the room was lovely and we had a great night sleep - black out curtains and double glazing do the trick - you would never guess that the hotel faces a busy main road. the staff is amazing,... I am very used to staying at 5 star and above properties. Don't let the four star rating of this fool - its service and ambience is very much 5 star. We had great rooms (we had 3 rooms between us and all were great, though the suite was superb with a great view from the extensive terrace). The breakfast... More

The hotel is in a convenient location to many of Rome's attractions, we walked all over the city from the Coliseum to the Forum and to all the other sights. The hotel is clean and provides everything you need for a great stay. The breakfast was probably the best breakfast of any hotel I've stayed at, the rooftop bar has... More

This is a great hotel----staff could not have had a better attitude, been more efficient or more helpful. The room was lovely' and good size with plush beds. Restaurant was excellent and a great view to enjoy with the food. Very nice breakfast with good selection. I will certainly recommend it. The drawbacks were: no close metro (although buses were... This hotel was fantastic in every way! Wonderful staff that took care of our every need including arrangements for sight seeing, carriage ride etc..we were lucky enough to have a corner room with a terrace. We also dined at their rooftop restaurant and loved the service, views and food! The views were amazing. The hotel is within walking distance to... More

My hubby and I stayed for 3 nights from 23rd June. From the transfer in style from the airport to the return leg everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful and accommodating and really made it a first class experience. From booking restaurants and taxis to advice on how to get around and where to go Every member of staff went... More

As many have mentioned, the Fortyseven Hotel is a lovely boutique property well-located near several sites, as well as the bridge to Trastevere and Tiberina. Upon check in we met the wonderful staff who greeted our three year old with a coloring book, colored pencils, and a 47 t-shirt. Needless to say, she was sold that this was the place... More

As a family of three in one room we stayed four nights in mid-May. The staff was friendly and efficient and the room was pleasant. The location is terrific: an easy walk to the Forum. A good bus stop is right outside. We would definitely stay there again. The Circus Bar restaurant on the roof was excellent. Pleasant views and... More

The hotel staff was very accommodating in all our dealings with them. We booked two rooms for a 5-night stay, and requested fifth-floor rooms with terraces, which they reserved for us. Unfortunately an airline pilots strike resulted in us arriving two days later than expected, but true to their word, they held two rooms on the fifth floor for us.... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
