This hotel was absolutely gorgeous. There's a restaurant on the roof - views outstanding. The staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside to this hotel would be the food. It wasn't cheap (nothing is in Rome) but the quality didn't match the price. Despite this, you walk a few minutes out of the hotel and the Colliseum is right there... More

We stayed at this hotel for our Anniversary and it was perfect. The roof-top terrace was lovely and the service there was impeccable - as well as the food being second to none! Every member of staff that we encountered were friendly and extremely helpful and attentive to all of our needs. The location of the Hotel was perfect for... More

Terrific hotel with great staff. Location was also great within walking distance to many attractions, dinning and shopping. Amazing time for all. Enjoyed drinking wine overlooking the river from the roof top lounge. Beds were comfortable and rooms were nice.

I checked in late & had less than 8 hours at the hotel (only enough to sleep). I think reception felt bad because I probably paid 3x what the normal rate was for that room since it was last minute. So they upgraded us to a suite with a long amazing balcony with a fantastic view. Although it was a... More

Stayed here for only one night and were just disappointed not to have more time. Everything was top-notch, the room was luxurious, the staff friendly and helpful and we made the most of the excellent rooftop bar and its excellent views.

I stayed at Hotel Fortyseven from January 25-29, 2015, while attending a meeting at FAO headquarters. My 4th floor room was delightful, with all the amenities you would expect (except an iron to touch up dress shirts). The bathroom was very modern. Free WiFi was adequately fast. The buffet breakfasts and cappuccino coffee were superb. The rooftop bar/restaurant offers impressive... More

Though 47 does not seem to be very familiar to Japanese --- it rarely appears on travel guides or group tour brochures in Japan --- I booked this hotel because it had so many positive reviews on Tripadvisor. As many reviewers said, the room was clean, modern, and spacious; the staff was friendly, attentive and professional. What is more, there... More

The hotel's staff are so friendly, educated, and helpful. Rooms are so spacious, and the hotel is like a 5 stars hotel. It is close to major sites, and all can be done by walking. However, if needed, a bus stattion is located 20 meters away, and is hub for major stations. I recommend this hotel, and will use it... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
