We stayed here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We stayed at four different hotels- this was one of the best. We liked the breakfast, the room was very comfortable (executive room facing the street) and the bathroom was the best of our trip (in terms of layout/space to shower). The wifi worked like a charm for me but my... More

Hotel is in a very good central location, close to all major attractions. 20 minute walk to the Colloseum, 15 minute bus ride to Vatican (bus stops right outside hotel), 15 minute walk to restaurant bar areas, with multi choices. Very friendly, helpful staff, rooms are fairly spacious and well maintained. We didn't use the restaurant/rooftop bar, but the breakfast... More

With walking distance of most of the 'must see' attractions. 81 bus takes you to the furthest (Vatican) from right outside the hotel for 1.5 euros. Bus route ends at Vatican so you don't even need to worry about when to get off. Tickets from reception ! Staff in the hotel excellent with very good English language skills given our... More

Good hotel, very nice room with great view of forum. The staff seemed a little disinterested, but aside from that the room and hotel are very good. Breakfast ok but stay away from the eggs! Not many restaurants nearby but the Trastevere is not far.

My boyfriend and I made a dinner reservation at the 47 Hotel rooftop restaurant and were both blown away with the quality of the service. We were personally greeted by Stefan who made himself available to us for the entire evening. He gave us the table with the best view that over looked the city. He went out of his... More

If you want to be very close to the ruins then this is the hotel. It is on a pretty busy street and doesn't have the neighborhood vibe we prefer. There is no quick espresso nearby. Rooms were clean and nice. It is hard to find a reasonable hotel in Rome. At this price point I would explore other options.... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you stayed with us and did not appreciate our location that is “close to the ruins”, well, let me remind you that the “ruins” are the Roman Forum, the Temples of the Forum Boarium, Teatro Marcello, Circus Maximus, Colosseum and so on... our location is unique in... we had an executive room which included airport pick up and drop off making the whole arrival process very easy. That is important after an over night flight. The entire staff was very helpful and pleasant. We ate twice in the Circus Roof Top restaurant with a view of Roman temples and the Tiber. Excellent Negronis and nice house wine.... More

Spent six nights here last week. The hotel is well situated, near Plaza Venezzia and close the Forum and Coliseum. A very good location for walking to all the major attractions in the city and the bars and restaurants across the river in Trasavere. It is on a busy road and this can mean it is a little noisy, but... More

It's perfectly situated between the major sites to the east and great restaurants to the west in Trastervere. We had dinner and drinks at the rooftop bar, which was enclosed because of the rainy and somewhat cold weather but still great and certainly would be better in a warm summer evening. The food and service were very good. Excellent breakfast... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
