Staff very helpful. Big rooms, clean and comfortable bed. Upstairs restaurant did a lovely meal, not sure of the cost. Ideally situated for many attractions in Rome, I'd strongly recommend it. They ensured that the car collected us promptly from the airport, despite a 9 hour delay.

Like many avid Tripadvisor users, I invested hours – nay, whole days – into my Rome research prior to a week-long trip this past October. If you are coming all the way to expensive Italy and probably won't be back for many years, if at all, you want your visit to be as enjoyable and memorable as possible. My choice... More

I read a lot of reviews and am always giggling at some of them. Mostly the ones complaining about noise in NYC or Paris or Rome. I live in Montreal, but grew up in Rome, and the sound of traffic, car alarms and dogs barking at them is part of the lulling noise I learned to fall asleep to. You... More

I am so happy to hear that your “just the two of us” night was a pleasant one here at Hotel Fortyseven! Should I go on... More

I REALLY hate to leave a bad review. I'd honestly rather not write a review at all if I don't have anything nice to say. However, my boyfriend insisted that I mention our experience in the hopes that it would help fellow travelers. We stayed here for three days and I had read other reviews and asked that we could... Dear Elizabeth, I am reading your review now and, allow me to say, it astonishes me that you complain about the hotel in a very negative way, but to be fair with our “fellow travellers” I believe they should also take into consideration the following: you stated that you asked for a room on the 4th floor overlooking the street... The hotel is super clean and modern. Its best features are the location (so central to so many important sites) and its rooftop bar and restaurant. We only tried the bar but were totally charmed by the view.

Our stay, which was just overnight, was still one of the most favorably memorable stays we have had anywhere. The small size belies the large welcome and great features of this hotel. We were greeted warmly and helped immediately with our luggage (for 4). We took the 2 suites with terraces and absolutely loved the views and the charm that... More

I stayed 7 nights at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is close to many sightseeing places, walking distance to the Coliseum, Pantheon, and other Piazza. It is about 40 minutes walk to the Vatican City along the river. It is a beautiful walk. Daily breakfast buffet is included in the hotel charge. The food was... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
